Just on the edge of the centre of the town, away from the port so a quiet oasis of peace! The small outside yard has been transformed during the pandemic so feels safe and is a lovely sun trap. We had a couple of pints of local ales and a nice lunch. The lovely staff were very accommodating. Dog friendly too!
Very nice old pub
Great place to return to in the first week back from lockdown. Fully redecorated and upgraded inside and out. Could not have asked for more. Dimmock the dog was a star.
Great place, so much history. Food looked great but only had a drink. Staff friendly and really nice. Dogs welcome too.
Lovely small character pub. We booked for Sunday lunch; it was superb! Really exceptional. Pleasantly surprised at quality. Staff were really lovely. Definitely recommend.

Not planned, it was so hot and we were close. So happy we did. Looks small but a bit Tardis-like! Good selection of drinks and the staff were very welcoming, even though they were soooo busy. Had starters only but tbh it was enough. Ham Hock all the way!!!
Friendly staff, covid friendly, excellent food and service , lovely out door and indoor area, well done golden lion very impressed.
As always great food and staff. Been visiting for near on 20 years and always been good.
