An impressive and sleekly modern university, placed on the top of a hill overlooking the city. I appreciated the open, welcoming plazas, which buzzed with the vibrant energy appropriate to a university, but the architectural style felt a little cold. Scotland is a haven of medieval history and ancient myth: I believe that legacy should have been honored instead of rejected. The buildings look like they could easily have been placed in California or Arizona. Still, students are what make a campus, and I appreciate the ideas that always seem to be flowing out of the halls and classrooms here.
Dear Students,nnI want to share a serious concern and warn others about my recent experience with this university. My friend and I both applied, received our admission letters, paid the fees, and even passed the interviews. However, after waiting over a month for the CAS to be issued, we suddenly received an email from the university stating that our applications had been withdrawn without any explanation.nnThis has been one of the worst and most disappointing experiences—a complete waste of time, effort, and money. To make matters worse, we are still waiting for our refund, with no clear communication from the university’s side.nnPlease be very cautious before applying. In our case, the process was extremely unprofessional and poorly managed. If you don’t want to risk losing time and money, I strongly advise you to consider other options.
Very well situated campus in the city centre just across the Buchanan bus station and train stations like Queen Street at Central Station a short walk away.
I think 3 years on I still can't help but feel robbed after going here. I was a pandemic student and can forgive things weren't always easy but what has always got me the most was my year sept 21-may22 experience. Largely I feel the course was very poorly adapted to fit with the reality of the world at that state. This being a course that yaps about being up to date. Mandatory work experience that was impossible to attain because of many businesses being afraid led to me barely getting through that class. The uni didn't offer much support other than 'just keep trying.' Those connections they talked so much about, where were they? In addition, for me online classes didn't work, and yet it seemed like lecturers would take every opportunity they could to jump back onto them. Start of 2021, there was a fully recorded lecture that was from the year before. The lecturer had not only failed to attend the session but recycled the content. My entire time there, i had two in person classes. Finally when I tried to get involved with extra curricular activities such as the student newspaper to try and bolster my odds of achieving anything, deaf ears all around. No response on all the socials. I can maybe forgive the university here since they said it was mostly student run but I had thought there would be some involvement from the lecturers. Either way, it blocked another opportunity that could have helped a lot.nnI may not have been a top student but I always tried my best and I still can't help feeling why didn't the lecturers and the course leaders? Glasgow Clyde College was with us every step of the way and I was with them at the start of the pandemic when no one had a clue what to do Glasgow Caledonian however, not so much. For a uni that claims to be the best modern uni, they could've done a whole lot better.
I became a part of the university in 2023 and I enrolled in the Public Health Master. Before taking admission, we were told a lot. We support this. After that, the university cheated us so much that when they failed us in a book, if we had contacted the university teacher, they would have said that we cannot tell you anything. We only asked if the work we were doing was right, they said we won't tell you anything, then they would make their own students do it. We failed 28 students in the class and they didn't reply to our mail or tell us anything. We had come to do a degree, we had come to fulfill a dream of our parents and they told us to get a diploma or a certificate. There was only one teacher who checked the assignments of all my books. There was no special teacher for any book. My father had an accident and because of that the GP gave me a letter and I also gave that letter to the university and because of that I went into depression and I became a victim of Migrain. I gave all the proofs to the university to get a chance but they didn't give any answer.
