Harvester is usually always great but the last twice we have been the restaurant has been really cold. This evening we had a 50% discount code to use, so were excited to come down and have some dinner after cooking throughout Christmas. Once we had been seated I could feel a cold breeze around the restaurant and upon looking around other customers were eating with jackets/hoodies on which isn't right when out for a meal. Im not sure if they are cutting down on heating with the rise in prices but it does ruin the experience. Our food was lovely and came out in no time, it was piping hot but unfortunately over time with the restaurant being so cold it didn't stay hot for long. Hopefully next time it will be warmer!
Food was what you'd expect from a chain restaurant, cheap, plentiful and good. The staff were fantastic, engaging, knowledgeable and friendly, will go back for sure. I had the ultimate mixed grill which was lovelyFood: 4/5
6 of us went to The Ghillies Lair for dinner. The staff were really friendly and helpful but I can’t say we enjoyed the food. It was all fine, but nothing particularly nice that I would recommend. The salad bar was the best bit. I ordered: Simply Chicken - The greens were dried up, the baked potato was clearly microwaved and dried up and the chicken was dry with thick gelatinous gravy. Not very appetising. It all seemed microwaved. Others ordered: Scampi and Chips Chicken Skewers Halloumi skewers - which were apparently good Half Rotisserie Chicken - with hollow chips The Dirty Bird Burger I have been here before and enjoyed it, so i was disappointed. The menu reads so good, so i’ll have to go back for the deciding vote i think.
I mostly enjoyed my time here. The interior is cozy and packed with a wide variety of setups. I had the best sundae I've ever had in my life, so that was cool. The only issue I would say I had, was that our service took soooo long between ordering and getting our food. That was quite frustrating.
Lunch catchup with my grown son. Pleasant surroundings with views of the river. Extensive menu and good value offers on 2 or 3 course lunches. Food was tasty and well presented, and hot. Staff were friendly and attentive even though they were busy when we visited, particularly Jane who served us. Jane was so nice, we left feeling great. Parking: plenty of parking even though some patrons were badly parked, taking up ectra spaces
Honestly the worst place I have ever eaten for a number of reasons. Firstly the place was very unclean - a disturbing amount of dust, dirt and old bits of food under the table that was clearly there for a while. Secondly the food was dreadful - the steak requested was to be cooked medium. Until today I did not know it was possible to cook a steak so unevenly, it was both well done and rare. The steak was incredibly dry and was left out for ages before being brought to the table. The sweet potato fries were also burnt to an absolute crisp. The salad was drenched in vinaigrette to a sickening degree. Thirdly the staff could not seem less fussed about customer service - I understand they are trying their best however the restaurant was very very quiet and it took quite a while to flag someone down for the bill. No one asked how our food was we have never been to a restaurant where the staff do not ask shortly after receiving your meal. Will definitely not be returning, not worth the money. This restaurant would be Gordon Ramsey’s 13th reason.
Seated straight away even tho we arrived 10 minutes early. They did have some of the menu off due to a temporarary closure coming up. Food was really nice and very good value for the money. Staff are really friendly with customers and make you feel at ease. Salad bar was great and a good selection of salad. An overall very nice experience 10/10
Food was generally great, chips to share were a bit cold, burger a bit dry over cooked but pretty good generally. Some not all waitresses could learn how to smile but in my experience this is mostly likely to be how the management is treating their staff - happy work environment equals happy workers. Lesson for the management there
Great food as always. Waitress, didn't get her name but was absolutely lovely, so friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Really lush with my daughter too. Such a lovely place to go for a nice family meal Kid-friendliness: Lovely and friendly with my 7 year old. Took time to listen and offer little extras like crayons.
We had a wonderful experience. Our server Monia was so friendly and attentive, she is a credit to her employers and our children loved her. Our son has autism and our daughter has adhd and the staff were so understanding and welcoming. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were excellent value for money. The establishment is clean and well decorated. We really enjoyed our visit and would certainly recommend. Our only regret is that we don't carry cash because otherwise we would have liked to have left a tip because it was certainly deserved. A really wonderful and family friendly place. Vegetarian options: There was a nice variety of vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, and exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff to families with children. Our server Monia was lovely.
