Found the George whilst on holiday and lucky enough to get a table in the conservatory looking out over the river. Service here is great, nice to see a place that has lots of staff who are all happy, friendly, and very attentive to their customers. Food was nicely cooked and hot. Highly recommend the crispy fried chicken burger, very tasty. Really nice relaxing place with great views. I can't wait to come back again. Parking: Nearest parking is a couple of minutes away in a pay at meter car park
Went for a meal for my birthday. Had a superb fillet steak. It was seasoned and cooked too perfection so compliments to the chef. My wife found the place looking through TripAdvisor. The reviews were very good and they were right. Wonderful location on the river Avon. Wonderful food and great service. Thank you all. Will definitely go back and I highly recommend it.
Highly recommend The George! Fabulous food, setting and staff! Amazing Tapas! Cheap cocktails 5pm to 8pm on a Friday with live music. Recommend booking a table by the river. Its absolutely idyllic. Sunday roast delicious too! Our favourite go to in Fordingbridge. For dog owners they are very welcome and have a dog menu!Food: 5/5

Stopped by for an early evening drink with my elderly mother. The staff were absolutely brilliant. Considerate without being patronising - describing the steps to my mother so she could successfully navigate to the table. A good range of non and low alcohol drinks were available and although we didn’t eat, the menu was comprehensive with plenty of choice. Great location next to the river. Would thoroughly recommend.
What a wonderful place to eat. We only stopped off for a spot of lunch and we didn't book. But they were more than happy to accommodate us and they sat us on a table right by the river Avon. The food was lovely to, just a very small bite to eat but what we had was very very tasty.
Well. Very beautiful place inside and out. So happy I have arrived there with no booking for Sat lunch and there was no problem with finding a space by the river. The George platter - for nearly £30 it is not a lot of food. It was okay but nothing special. Garlic bread was very tasty. Steak - medium rare, cooked to the exact level, delicious. Trout - with pistachio and herb on the top - too salty. You should use unsalted pistachios. Trout cooked perfectly, nice creamy sauce and potato mash under the trout. It wasn’t very practical to place trout fillet with skin on the top of potato mash as skin has to be taken off.
Birthday meal treat. Staff lovely, was given card on arrival and cake with candle at the end. Food fab, had the specials. Can’t fault them Food: 5/5
