Great food, decent prices, fish n chips had massive fish. Waitresses were polite, friendly and when not busy were chatty. Bar staff not so, huffed when i didn't have the exact money and not a smile to be seen. Lovely setting by a river, car park is rough driving on it and got building work going on at present outside.
Such a welcoming atmosphere. Very friendly staff couldn't do enough for us. Busy Sunday lunch but still very attentive and friendly. Had a lovely dinner Vegetarian options: Chili with rice And garlic bread
Food is absolutely amazing, proper adult sized portions, and very reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back And the river Idle is just outside
Nice pub/restaurant, good quality home cooked food and variety of dishes, On different days, they do specials, like fish & chips day. Friendly staff and country pub atmosphere, overlooks small river. Fairly priced and good variety of beers.
Five of us had a lovely birthday meal today for my mums 91st birthday, we had 2 Ribeye Steak, 2 Fillet Steaks and a Thai fish cake, Steaks cooked to perfection, absolutely delicious, served with nice crispy chips, garden peas ,lovely onion rings , tomatoes and mushrooms, fish cakes with new potatoes and a nice tasty dressed salad. Can certainly recommend and will be coming back
Simply the best pub pie & peas that I've ever had Update. 13th may 2023 We loved it so much last time that we went again today. Sadly the steak and mushroom pie was incredibly salty such a shame as we travelled a long way as well.
Recently stayed across the road at Haxey Quays caravan and camping park So had a wonder over to the Haxey gate, It was really nice. Dinner time had the small lasagne with Homemade chips, They were gorgeous. So Crispy And so we're the portion of onion rings we had. Small meal option for £6.00 was fantastic value. We went back at night. Steak with peppercorn sauce and a Hunters chicken were both delicious. With those fantastic Crispy home made chips again. Photos below are of the dinner time small menu
We had a great evening here, we sat outside as a family with dogs. The food was lovely, the service was friendly and timely. We had fish and chips and the kids had kids meals which were great quality too. There were lots of water bowls out for the dogs. The bar overlooks the canal and has a very picturesque setting. I'd highly recommend.
We went in on valentines day, with the children, not expecting to get a table seeing as we hadn't booked vut the staff found us one and wete particularly friendly and welcoming to all of us. In fact one of the ladies there was our unpaid photographer dor the afternoon and took some family photos for us.. Can't complain at all. The food was lovely too and service was quick, lovely atmosphere and general cleanliness was really good. We will definitely be going back again. 5 stars doesn't quite do this place justice! We were very happy with our time there and in fact have been each time we've visited!
family Sunday lunch, half way hostelry between South Lincoln and Leeds. The food was delicious especially the roast beef! and the service excellent. Location is very good, atmosphere is country pub. Good VFM overall.
