Usual toilets were closed and it was difficult to get through to the alternative toilets tucked away on the top floor. Disappointed in the loss of the market area. Has always been a unique feature with some interesting stalls and food outlets.
A full and busy centre with plenty of places to relax . Loads of shops of variety. Not too crowded so you could move around easily and plenty of eating places with many choices. Definitely will visit again.
When I lived near Sunderland city centre I would drive out to the galleries purely for the free all day parking. There is also no groups of people hanging about that would put me off going into shops. Everything is easy to access
It's about time they thought over plans to close indoor market. Some good little places in there. Why they want to build a gym when Leisure centre is other end of shops and a licenced place when they already have Oasis I don't know. They've taken our best cafes, wool shops, too many places standing empty in Galleries now.
Visited during later hours where I needed the loo. Went to one of the security members and they told me the toilet was on the other side and I should ask the other guard. He said the were closed and there was no other toilets. They said Asda was closed, luckily I had Google maps as I checked and Asda wasn't closed. The security guard are nice but they don't have much knowledge on the shopping centre.
