Gail's is a chain of bakeries I noticed when travelling through London that sell a variety of treats including sweet and savoury fare! Thought I'd give it a try so purchased the almond chocolate croissant to enjoy whilst taking a stroll down Portobello Rd, Notting Hill. The croissant was fresh and tasty and quite filling. I wish I had asked for it to be heated up a little so the chocolate would be all gooey and warm . Nice little store on a busy street with dine-in options where you can sit and relax.
I recently visited Gail’s bakery on Portobello Road for the first time. I tried the cinnamon bun and found it to be really flavorful. However, I was disappointed with the slow service at the branch, despite it not being too busy. It took over five minutes for me to receive my cinnamon bun after placing my order. In addition, I noticed that the staff at the counter seemed to be rushing while serving customers and processing transactions, which led to some customers receiving the wrong orders. Dietary restrictions: The food and drinks are made by hand in their bakeries. They use many ingredients and shared equipment, therefore they cannot guarantee food and drinks are free from allergens.
Great bakery and atmosphere in the heart of the main area. Plenty of room to relax and great a feed. Disappointing to say we had the Sausage Roll and it was served lukewarm/cold. The flavours were there but it just needed to be warm. That didn't detract from how good Gail's was generally and you should definitely check it outFood: 3/5
Nice maple pecan scone and a cup of Assam breakfast tea. Quite busy inside - felt a bit chaotic, so sat outside. Food: 5/5
Their chai is absolutely delicious! This spot is a little crowded during market hours but it’s worth queuing a littleFood: 5/5
Indulging in pastries at Gail’s in Notting Hill was an absolute delight! The array of pastries was a feast for the eyes and a treat for the taste buds, each one beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. Pairing these delectable treats with their well-crafted coffee and indulgent hot chocolate made for a perfect combination. The ambiance was inviting, offering a cozy atmosphere to savor these delightful pastries and drinks.
The very rude lady at the counter. Slow service they did forget my order. The manager was nice but feel like staff needs a bit extra customer service and a smile on the face! The coffee was warm. Love the blubbery brioche!Food: 3/5
Chanced upon this lovely bakery along the way to Portobello Road Market. Could be crowded with people with takeaway. Had the baked soft egg and ham and cheese. They were good with lots of ingredients.Food: 5/5
First visit here and it definitely did not dissapoint! The manager Marcie sorry if not correct spelling explained to us what baked eggs were as we did not know. They were so delicious and the coffees were perfect, the very best we have had during our whole holiday! The choice of items from the bakery was very good. Plenty of seating for dining in. Would highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area, or travel here, it is worth it!
Great bakery. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Went on Friday around 8:30 and there was a small queue but it went fast. Tables inside and outside. Clean toilet & baby changing facilities. Reasonably priced. Will definitely come back.
