The choice, quality and presentation of meals, prepared by the obviously talented chefs, is above compare, and aligned with exceptional value for money, and the impeccable service and consideration of the waiting staff, makes dining in Raymie's an absolute delight.nSpecial thanks to Niamh and the rest of her colleagues, who made our New Year's Day trip to Warrenpoint an occasion to be remembered.
Firstly Raymies is one of our favourite restaurants to go to, however tonight the feelings are mixed, and split between the food and the service.nnThe good part is the food as always was excellent, I had the lamb and my husband had the fillet steak, both were spot on, so top marks to the chef.nnThe service however on this occasion was disappointing, its normally very good. we did note that Neil was not about tonight there were plenty of staff on duty.nnWe were sat at our table and given the menu, then shortly after our drinks order and food order was taken so good so far.nThe drinks came quickly, we did not order starters and obviously a steak freshly cooked takes time, so no issues about the time, however we were not offered the cup of soup that normally is offered and others around us were getting maybe it was just an oversight.nnOur food arrived, and we noticed we had not been given a steak knife, so had to catch an employees eye and ask for one again this must have been an oversight.nnAfter we had finished our main course, we were waiting for the plates to be cleared and to order desserts, sadly we waited for far far too long, over 15mins, and just gave up on ordering desserts, and went to the bar to pay our bill.nnSo tonight food great, service not so great.nnPat Byrne.
This restaurant is a very good restaurant. I came with my family. We went shopping in Newry and we wanted to eat seafood. We found this restaurant. The service is very good.
Came for food after seeing good reviewsnonline.nnGot seated no problem and shortly afternsitting we were asked for drinks. I hadnwater and my partner asked for a coke.nnDrinks came to the table. The coke was flatnand probably poured from a 2 litre bottlenbehind the bar as it did not taste like coke.nnFor starters we asked for pork belly andnchicken wings. The pork belly was nothingnbut fat and the calamari that came withnit did not taste great and was luke warm.nThere was a sauce of some kind servednwith it but it was hard to tell what it wasnsupposed to be.nnThe chicken wings came. The sauce on thenwings was nice even though there was notnmuch of it. Not much meat on the chickennbones and the bones on the wings wherenblack once you got into them.nnNot wanting to totally give in on mynthought that it might just be a 1 off, Inordered the fish and chips as its hard notnto ruin a simple dish like that.nThe fish was bland and greasy and thenbatter was hard as a rock.nnWe also ordered the Chicken Stack withnmash and gravy. Chicken was OK but thenbacon served with the dish was obviouslynreheated and hard. Overall the dish wasnpoor qualitynnHaving seen the many good reviews wenwere excited to call here for quite somentime. However we were very disappointednwith the food we received. I think it is thenright thing to do leaving an honest opinionnnHate leaving a bad review but would notnrecommend to anyonennI do not wish for the owner to contact menor give me his mobile number.
Raymie's is a locally beloved restaurant on Duke Street in Warrenpoint. This is with good reason as the food is up to a very high standard and the menu has enough choice to keep most customers very happy.nThere are no vegan options on the menu but when we asked our servers they provided the vegan and vegetarian dishes for that day. I had the mushroom risotto which was absolutely delicious. It had a combination of multiple type of mushrooms from Oyster to Shimeji which gave a rich flavour. They opted to avoid the creamy flavour and focus on the veg which I think worked really well.nAs much as I loved this dish it is a shame to see no vegan starters/desserts and would love to see other mains on offer for vegan/vegetarian visitors.nOverall I really enjoyed this meal but would be excited to see what further options may become available in the future. I am giving 4 stars in this review but this only reflects the lack of choice rather than the 5 star experience we had. I would definitely recommend visiting Raymie's
