I used to like going to this place. Today was a total disappointment . The staff seemed to be more available to chat or to act silly with their colleagues rather than helping customers. I was looking for a specific product. Unfortunately, they only had one in display and were not interested in having the other, not in display because they could not be bothered. They seemed to pick and choose what to say to customers without checking and making unprofessional comments while the client was still near them. I found it very unpleasant. There were at least 6 members of staff in that shop, and only one Kim seemed to do his job correctly. The others acted unprofessional while customers were in the shop by having personal chats! I believe the value of the shop has been going down terrible. The quantity and quality of the products seemed to remain good. Nevertheless, staffing needs to improve radically if they want to keep up with the market and to re-evaluate their approach with customers. Furthermore, on the website, they try to give a positive image by offering a cup of tea to show how friendly they are with customers! I am still waiting for mine, and I did not see them offering to anyone neither !
Where do I start?? wow!!! The best service you could ever imagine. We were looked after by the lovely Victoria. Not only did she offer us some warm drinks on a horrible day but also a cookie or two. We ended up spending a good hour or so but we could have spent all day. She’s so engaging and knowledge but also simplifies everything for us to understand. We only went in with the idea of two sofas and we took a third as well. She’s very good at making people’s inspiration come to life. Give that girl a promotion or something, she’s a credit to your store. We actually found all your other staff members to be welcoming and down to earth. We’d never shop anywhere else now. She also recommended a care plan which we think we will take but made it much more appealing as opposed to general insurance. A very comforting and warm person which matches the store to a tee. The best experience. Well done Furniture Village and the lovely Victoria.
Received fantastic service from Victoria & the Manager, Graham. We went in to buy a few bits of new furniture as we were moving. Victoria & Graham went over and beyond to assist. They told us all the pros & cons on the different sofas & items & was patient while we chopped & changed decisions. Victoria further found all the best deals & discounts. She has further kept us up to date on delivery. Received absolutely amazing service overall from Victoria & Graham at the Southampton Furniture Village, will definitely recommend & shop there again.
After receiving fabulous service from Victoria at Furniture Village Southampton our new Sofa and Chair arrived in time and the delivery service was very efficient and quick. The lamp that we ordered separately was sent as soon as that was ready so we didn’t have to wait for the sofa. We were also inspired by Victorias interior design ideas too and so kept with our urban jungle theme. Final touches needed like curtains but very happy with the service both before and after the purchase Thank you
Came into the store today and was greeted by a very friendly man Bill, he was so patient with us and really helped us narrow down what we needed as we were unsure on what we required. It was our first purchase from the store, there was no pressure to buy anything right away, we even went on some errands whilst we discussed and then returned to get even more help and finally buy what we wanted. He was super kind and really had great customer service. Would absolutely recommend to friends and family. Thank you
I visited the Southampton branch Furniture Village because I had purchased furniture from here before and I was looking to replace an old electric reclining armchair. After wandering around for a few minutes I was approached by a salesman who was really helpful with my needs and I was shown suitable armchairs, The whole process from arriving, choosing and purchasing to leaving the shop took about 45 minutes to one hour. The two member's of staff who dealt with my purchased could not have been more friendly and knowledgeable regarding my needs. would highly recommend this shop.
Whilst the quality of furniture is good - the aftersales, customer services and delivery aspects of Furniture Village is extremely poor. Despite placing one order, they arranged two separate delivery dates for our order rather than hold until all could be delivered on the same day. We were initially informed this was due to different warehouses, but this was later confirmed to be a lie once they wished to collect the incorrect items to the store warehouse. The wrong product style and colour was delivered and identified to the delivery company, however the ability of Furniture village to correct or even locate our genuine order has been extremely poor. Instead a new factory order has to be placed meaning yet another delivery, and a long wait for replacement stool of the correct style and colour. It is very obvious from the photo they are completely unlike, so how this passed any QA prior to delivery is astonishing. They then have the cheek to call and ask for the remaining balance to be paid otherwise they'll come and collect the incorrect stool which is significantly cheaper simply because it shows a computer debt on their system. They say you get what you pay for - well this is certainly untrue with furniture village, the price of a high-end retailer, but have received better customer service from budget high street retailers. I would avoid any orders with Furniture village unless the goods are available for immediate release. We will be returning to oakland furniture for our next purchase of furniture, much more professional service.
I had a great experience with Furniture Village. Ordered beds and mattresses for my new build and they had variety of options. Kim was excellent and he helped me choose the products that exactly match my requirements. Great quality... amazing selection... definitely recommend..
We recently purchased a super king size bed and mattress, and our experience at this store was exceptional. Kim provided outstanding service, demonstrating patience, thoroughness, and an impressive level of knowledge. He guided us through the selection process with care, offering valuable information without any pressure. His approach gave us the space to make our decision comfortably. Overall, a truly positive experience, and we are thoroughly satisfied with our purchase. Highly recommended!
The store itself was great, as great as furniture village is anyway, didn't get hassled too much which was good. The main mark down was because of the parking charges. You can nip in for half an hour free but after that you pay. By the time you go around several of these large stores and car parks the parking mounts up. I personally would go to other cities rather than Southampton because of this, the only reason we ended up visiting this store is because we came for IKEA. It feels like Southampton are taking advantage of this. 30 minutes free parking is a joke, it's not like there's a train station nearby, or it's a place where you would want to leave your car. The council etc should be encouraging people to go out to the shops in times like this, not avoid them. Lots of people will not have spare money to pay for parking. I appreciate this rating is more to do with the parking than the store, but since there isn't a rating for the car park, and it affected our store visit, along with many other stores, then it's how we felt about the visit.
