Fortnum & Mason

About

This way to all the lovely things... #Fortnums #FortnumsTea

Story

Our legacy began in 1705 by Hugh Mason, from a small store in St James Market and a spare room in his house, and the Fortnum family who had arrived in London as high class builders reinvigorating Mayfair in the wake of the Great Fire. William Fortnum, who was quite the entrepreneur, also took a post as Footman in Queen Anne’s household and in Mr Mason’s spare room, where Fortnum met Mason.

What a magnificent display of produce. You can see why it's the royal grocer. Step in even if it's just to take in the ambience of the building. Its rooms are head to toe with such beautiful displays of products and artworks that you can't help but feel so posh and proper. A must visit! Xx
Such a unique experience Super crowded but still fun Some cookies and chocolate are amazing; especially baby scones. Since the prices are quite high, you could consider buying some gifts for the premium people in your life. The tartare sauce 200 gr tastes great and it could be a good idea to take back home with you. The musical tins are also lovely.
Wayyyyyyy overpriced for what you get. However it is a bit of a British institution so it is worth coming here just to see the displays on offer even if you do not buy anything. I would love to have partaken in afternoon tea but it was already sold out.
I love this store, bustling with tourists. All shelves fully stocked. Well laid out, with staff on hand everywhere you turn.
A beautiful, old school department store with something interesting on all of its floors not just the ground floor. For example, if you've got time and fancy some ice cream, the parlour upstairs is well worth a visit with some great ice cream and a lovely space to enjoy it. When you visit, take a moment to take in the artworks spread throughout the store, a surprisingly extensive collection. Parts of the store are currently undergoing renovation.
Worth seeing, but to buy something? Depending on your budget, it could be expensive if you are on a tight money schedule. Quality? Very good, we bought a box of English biscuits with an orange hint, very tasty. Price? More than 9.95£. Also, we purchased a medium size "drum" of rose tea. Nice smell and taste, but not sure it is worth the price of 19.95£. There are plenty of different teas, chocolates, biscuits, toffees, wines, and even coffee available to buy in bulk, bottle, or box. They have a restaurant, not sure about their services or prices, but on a Friday at noon time, it was very crowded.
There is always a pleasant atmosphere and excellent service. This time I was helped to choose a perfume with the smell of tuberose and silk pajamas.
It's the nicest shop I've been to in London. Let's face it, it's a bit expensive. I always go there for their sauces. It offers not only food but also a varied selection of kitchen, cosmetics, care and home accessories. All the products are of top quality.
Amazing store. The food hall is on the lower ground floor and is a stop for me at Christmas to pick up nice bits. I visited to get a slice of Bertha from the Get Baked pop-up but it had just sold out. Instead I bought some chocolate cookies which were amazing. If you're in London, this is the place to go for small presents or a treat. The tea room is huge.
We had afternoon tea in the diamond jubilee room on the 4th floor. Everything was delicious. The entire experience was lovely, enjoyed by both adults and kids. They have a special afternoon tea menu for kids which was my son loved! We also really enjoyed the market on the ground floor, great selection of biscuits, condiments, candies and of course tea!
