My father died recently. They handed over his original will and 2 certified copies and didn't charge even though we were doing our own probate as his affairs are quite simple. They were very understanding and sympathetic.

I was very disappointed and frankly quite put off by this law firm.  When I enquired about getting a straight forward document witnessed and signed I was very told that it was more complicated than I understood and this in a very patronising manner.  On asking how much it would cost I was told £150 +Vat.  I went to another Solicitor, was seen the same day and charged just £7 which is the actual cost.  It took about 5 minutes!
