First visit and despite the rather overcast day we had a brilliant time . Large easy to find car park right up to the beach . Beautifully clean long sandy beach backed by sand dunes and beyond the wonderful squirrel forest. We had picnics in a sheltered spot on the sand dunes as it was very very windy It was safe and fun to paddle in the sea and some of us collected shells. I even found a crab but no seaweed! The sand was perfect for drawing in too. I recommend a visit .
Such a lovely beach. With its rolling sand dunes that seem to stretch the length of the entire coast, to the endless see with sights to see. You can see Blackpool on the right in the distance and an endless line of wind turbines stretching out all the way along the Welsh coast. The beach has a rich history going back to WW2 where they buried all the rubble from the bombed homes in the dunes. There are also many forests paths to enjoy. They also have a large parking area.
if you really want to enjoy the dunes and the barge, then go to this place. a great beach for both the whole family and a simple stroll along the seafront. In windy weather it is possible to take a walk in the woods and enjoy the air, which is saturated with the smell of pine. your four-legged friends will love this place tooVisited onWeekend
Always a lovely place to spend some time walking, at any time of year. Stunning beach, pretty woodland, delightful dunes. We'd give it 5 stars; but not until we actually spot the mythical Red Squirrel. Also the National Trust really need to update either their online maps/walking routes.Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Wonderful beach, amazing dunes, shady woodland walks, acres of space for kids to run, explore, paddle and build sandcastles. Lots of rare wild creatures to keep your eye out for. The only downside is the carpark is a bit expensive at £7.50, but it is for the whole day and as it's National Trust the money is helping to protect this beautiful place.
Lovely Beach, well kept and family friendly. If you arrive in a good day and a good time you could have a good stretch of the beach to yourself. The dunes and squirrel trails are an additional plus for wanting to come again and again
My, Words could not, even can not describe the beauty of this place. From a maritime pine forest to the sand dunes, to the foreshore the whole experience encapsulated everything that might be necessary for a mindfulness exercise. If you have not been here and seen and experienced this extraordinary place your life is not as full as it might be. Incredible....
Very nice beach . Shame they don't put tables and benches, could be very great. We couldn't get through to the gate as the parking was already full, we walked to get in from other pathway. Need to go very early to get in. We stayed till the sunset, it was beautiful, breath taking.Visited onWeekday
Best place for long walks, good for picnics. Best views. I visited it in the month of December so The Asparagus farm and local shops were closed would love to go in summers to enjoy local food. Issue was there were no Toilets nearby and parking machine were not fully functional.
I always love coming here, come rain or shine. Such a good place to chill. The car parking price is £7.50 so make sure you have the correct change. The machine doesn't accept notes or cards. You can pay via an app but the signal isnt great.Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
