Beautiful location, looking out on the tops of Huddersfield, onto the moors. The staff were nice ans polite. The food did take slightly long but it was packed out. The food was cooked really well and the pie was very tasty, it was just the crust let it down. It was a bit crumbly instead if flakey and the veg was a undercooked. Not bad for the prices.
Stopped on the way past. Came over from Saddle worth. Stunning scenery. The Ford was convenient with plenty of parking some benches outside around the car park. We ate in the restaurant Friday Lunch. Not overcrowded but gently busy. Good service, good food made on the premises. Similar pricing to other pubs but seemed more classy. Parking: Plentiful but may get busy at the weekends.
arrived 1:10pm on wednesday, a table for 5 was booked two days ago. weather was windy and occassional showers so everyone sit inside. free wifi was not good and basically was not working. meals were tasty. the ham sandwich was good with few slices of ham. plenty steak in homemade steak and ale pie. lamb shank and salmon were delicious. the piri piri chicken wings was tasty not spicy. the dessert stick toffee pudding was a bit disappointed due to no service with custard and the pudding was not like others that I had in other restaurants.
Really liked it, good food, and drinks. Popped in for a drink, and ended up having Sunday roast because it looked so good, and it was..
Came here last minute on a Friday with family 8 of us. We hadn’t booked and we received a lovely welcome, they managed to move around tables for us to get us sat down. Food was fantastic, proper home cooked. Staff were really friendly and went out their way to make sure we went away happy. Will be back!
Just been to try this place out 27/8/22 and am seriously impressed. Had fish and chips which were exceptional and my fiancé had Kiev which was also great and great chips. Also a lovely cosy pub with lovely friendly attentive staff. Can’t fault anything, perfect lunch.
We visited the pub while on holiday in the area and enjoyed a good meal served by friendly staff. However, when we walked across the moors a couple of days later specifically as we had enjoyed our previous meal, we were told that as there were not enough customers, they weren't serving food. This was at 5.30pm! Very disappointed.
Good beer, good food and a lovely waitress. Can recommend the meat & potato pie short crust pastry with a side order of proper big chips, also the large fish & chips and the cajun & bacon salad. Was looking forward to a pudding but was totally stuffed after the main course and couldn't fit one. Will definitely be back.
Lovely food great service and superb surroundings !!! Went back again today and had the Sunday lunch beef roast ! Highly recommended
Called in for a late lunch. Very friendly welcome. Nice rooms to eat in with different table layouts. Some have lovely views. The Inn is decorated to a very high standard and is spotlessly clean. We had lovely meals. Highly recommended.
