Came here to meet a friend and her new baby for lunch. The food looks fresh and yummy, though the lasagna was average. The staff aren't always attentive as it can get very busy over lunch. That just shows that the locals know the quality. Coffees were good!
Love love loved this place! The breakfast is amazing. I went back for an early evening drink as well and the antipasti was fantastic. It has a real authentic Italian feel to it, very warm, and friendly staff. Definitely my new local and easy going. I felt very comfortable here and I loved the takeaway options. Highly recommend it.
The juice is insanely expensive, the food prices are also pretty dear. The food is good enough, and the service is a bit hit and miss. For some reason the cutlery etc. is all self service but not explained. The ambience is lacking, with it more or less a cold and uninviting atmosphere. There's just a few things missing from foodlab, I don't think it knows quite what it wants to be. Also, for goodness sake at least spell Eggs and Soldiers right on your board!
This place has the most friendly staff I've seen in all London! Excellent choice of smoothies and juices. I tried their vegetarian Benedict which had uncooked spinach. It seemed strange but was actually really tasty! Very casual dining but great food.
If you want an authentic local deli style place to chill or share a meal with friends with a good glass of wine, a freshly made yummy bite and good coffee this is the place for you. Food is delicious and cakes are second to none. Staff are super friendly and attentive. And love it when you hear a bit of italian in the background, feels like a holiday!
Ordered a latte which was pretty good but I think they could improve customer service. The gentleman who served me saw me come in but when I went to the counter he didnt welcome me and started to serve person who had arrived a few minutes after me. His manner was then abrupt and unfriendly. Didnt make me want to come back which is a shame as their decor and food is just my style.
Coffee was ok but the food was very under seasoned .. The homemade gnocchi were too dense and heavy, sauce was ok. Focaccia agIn dense and actually had no taste. Cous cous was fridge cold and poor portion. Only highlight was the frittata, which was quite nice. Staff ok and friendly.
Today the Food Lab was awful, I get better service from McDonalds. Here's what went wrong: 1- In a group of 4, one persons' food arrived 15min after the others. 2- The food that did make it out was lukewarm eggs Benedict 3- If I'm forking out £9, I'm expecting some pretty serious eggs Benedict, this looked and tasted like what was essentially a miserable eggy soup... 4- I ordered a sandwich which never came, so I kindly reminded them. 15 minutes I reminded them again... 10 minutes later I reminded them again........ 5 minutes later I reminded them again................ I asked for a refund. This place is not a good brunch place. It's lazy, phoney and completely overpriced, service is just all over the place at the moment. Go to the unpretentious cafe next door.
Imagine a franchised airport restaurant where the staff are working for free at five a.m. The mushrooms had shrivelled to the size of a pea. Even a Borrower would be saddened to receive this food. Stale bread without butter. Bacon could have been Frazzles. Beans with a crust. Eggs over done. Service de-void of any charm or charisma. All for £9. If I had eaten a five pound note, a two pound coin, a one pound coin, and two fifty pence pieces on a paper plate I would have been more satisfied. Bad experience.
Had a hugely disappointing visit here earlier. Firstly waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order, which would have been acceptable if the place had been remotely busy. Then, when my omelette arrived, it wasn't cooked properly - the egg was runny and the entire thing disintegrated on attempting to eat it. I explained this to the waitress who did offer to get another one, but I declined this as I had been put off. My friend had the eggs benedict which she enjoyed at the time, but on the way home felt unwell and suffered diarrhoea and vomiting for the rest of the afternoon. We later discovered the food standards agency gave this place a hygiene rating of 2/5 - we weren't surprised by this nor the fact that they don't publicise this. Avoid at all costs.
