Great activity for family and friends! The boat ride is an excellent activity for the summer holidays. The man that was running the boat hire was friendly and super helpful. Life jackets are provided, and the lake is a nice route to row around and feed the ducks. Hiring the boats out for half an hour was entertaining for the kids and at such a good price. Nice day out!! But if I hadn’t pre-bought the experience with groupon I wouldn’t have done it. There was a lot of rubbish floating in the water and the area around the pond was utter filth. The boat we were in was filthy and full of bird poo, which I understand, but could at least be wiped down.
Very upset. Bought a Groupon and booked online as instructed. Attended lake at 12 in time for my booking. Boat hire was closed. Waited for 30 minutes, it never opened. Called parks service number on sign but the number took me through to Hackney Council employee line. Looked for park ranger but no one was in the office. Phoned weather check line, even though the weather was fine and sunny, number was incorrect can be seen on photo. Luckily Groupon refunded the money onto my Groupon account but I was upset that this happened as I was really looking forward to the boat ride :
absolutely loved this afternoon woth my son, beautiful and wouldn't even think you was in London. only fault is that I went 3 times before finding it open, as the people that run it can leave if it's quiet or if they deem it too cold.

Lovely staff, great way to spent some time on the water.
I purchased their offer on Groupon and one hour before my booked slot I have received a text message that due to short of staff they won't be opening so I should contact Groupon for the refund or reschedule. I understand that there are things that happen unexpectedly, but I should have been informed earlier. I do not recommend if you do not want to have your plans ruined last minute. I went to Hyde Park boats instead, and it was great fun.
Had a great time here. The boat ride is an excellent activity for a sunny day. It is also very cheap you can rent a whole boat for £8, the trip around the lake is approximately 30mins. The boat fits four people.
This is exceptionally cheaper than any other london park and has NONE of the queues. The lake is slightly smaller than Hyde Parks Serpentine, but without the congestion and traffic. The boat is £8 for the whole boat- not per person. Scenic, relaxed and good value. Get on it!
We had a lovely time at this place me and my boyfriend, everything was nice, feeding birds, the boat and price. Its nice place to enjoy nature and I would definitely go back there.
