Story

The Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre is based at the west end of Millwall Outer Dock on the Isle of Dogs and offers a huge range of Water Sports training and opportunities. We are a Royal Yachting Association recognised training centre, and deliver courses in Sailing, Windsurfing and Powerboating under the RYA scheme. We also offer British Canoe Union courses in paddlesports. We have a healthy adult membership taking advantage of our Open Sessions and social sailing including our famous Twilight sessions on a Wednesday night. For those wishing to progress their skills further we also run improvers clinics in all sports on a Monday night. For young people we run a twice weekly Youth Club on Monday nights and Sunday mornings, together with advanced sessions for those wishing to take their skills further, sailing racing in particular has become very popular this year with a number of weekly sessions aimed at competitive sailing. In addition to this we run a number of off-site activities including river sailing trips on the Tidal Thames and trips away to other watersports locations. Group bookings of various kinds are also welcome at the centre. We can cater for all ranges of abilities and requirements.

We had our wedding reception at DSWC. The venue is very versatile with plenty of indoor and outdoor space with great views of the dock. We used the venue caterers for a BBQ on the covered terrace and the food was excellent with generous portions. We had exclusive use of the hall and bar with access the day before to decorate at no extra cost. It's a nice relaxed venue for a casual wedding
Our eight and nine year old girls were scheduled for their first kayaking session yesterday, however, due to the weather, their introduction was replaced with canoeing, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. To participate, you must be eight years old. They provide windsurfing, sailing, and canoeing in addition to kayaking. Excited to explore the other water sports. The personnel was welcoming and friendly. An additional perk is that parking is free on the premises. I would highly recommend.
Had a great time here paddle boarding! Lovely way to spend a summer day, and at a good price.
We’ve been here multiple times for the open water swim sessions and 1-mile swim. The water quality is great, staff are friendly, and coach Andrew is really helpful!
£15 to paddleboard or kayak for an hour. No complaints, really good. Would recommend.
Fantastic open water courses here! The two coaches, Andrew and Thomas, are incredible. They have a lot of experience guiding you into swimming open water and they are very patient. Definitely recommend them if you are thinking about entering open water swimming!
The bar has great views across the water. It is also great value, with a very impressive range of brands of spirits - and always friendly service, too.
Great place for all kind of watersports including swimming, kayaks, paddleboards and sailing. I recommend the royal yach academy sailing courses which start from beginner level and after which you can sail on your own - perfect experience for the summer. The coaches are very good and the staff is friendly. There is also a nice bar for refreshing at the end of the day. Last but not least some pretty chill doggos are walking around ready to make new friends.
Great club and we have spent quality time here with our entire team. Food was not so excellent but good. The staffs are friendly to host corporate events. facilities such as lockers, restrooms are available and a bar as well.
It was first time and I dont think will be next time. Unpleasant and unhelpful staff. Not enough instructions been given. Even tough i asked should we change our clothes he said no you dont need to. So we are totally wet through. Had to go back home and all saturday plan had to change. Smelly, dirty vests. And to be honest it was boring to kayaking at pond too. Nothing interesting. We were planning to have sailing course here so it was good to know this place is not good for us. Not recommended at all. Try canoe at chanell. At least its fun.
