I ordered a cocktail and drank a little there was no alcohol in it, my guess its sunk to the bottom. I drink a little more and return to the bar. They top it up with a little cider I get to the bottom expecting a strong flavour and just have a juice flavour. I don't normally leave 1 star reviews I, give the place a chance to rectify they didn't.
The food was pretty bad on the whole. My partner’s burger was burnt black. I had asked for a jacket potato with the bean chilli. When it arrived it was just the chilli, I had asked about the jacket potato to which the waiter went back to the kitchen to change it, however, on his return he said that they don’t serve jacket potatoes with the chilli. I then indicated to the menu which clearly said that it served this item with the potato but the waiter said they could not correct it. I accepted the meal out of politeness and hunger to then find a long hair in the chilli Cider was also served in dirty glasses. All in all, not a pleasant experience and would not recommend or go back
Overall disappointing. What type of bar doesn’t have whiskey and has bottles of wine they are not “allowed” to open. We had the battered cod and chips, yes the fish was big however the chips looked like yesterday’s leftovers. There is a sign saying “cash is preferred “ which is fine by me, but then change was not readily available. Maybe summer time is better.
Took my parents for Sunday Dinner today and it was absolutely delicious. Plenty of beef and veg cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend. Compliments to the chef
The 16 Oz T-Bone is the best I've had in Barry! Flavor packed deep and beefy notes. Likewise the fried squid one of the largest bite size pieces you'll find in Barry. The bubble bobble prawns were huge and delicious. Even the chips were chippy like. If they can install some fly traps this would be one of the best grills in Barry.
We went in for some food as outside and online it said open and serving, we went in and saw others having food and went to order only to be told by the, very rude, manager that they haven’t been serving since 3:30 and we should have checked on their Facebook page even though there were signs saying fresh food was being served. She was very short with me and had no time, very rude, don’t go there.
Would highly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting barry Island or lives here, brilliant homemade food, staff are customer focused and can handle any query without fail, would definitely be coming back and it is dog friendly which is a bonus also.
Went in there, asked if we needed to get a table to order and they said yes. Sat down and spent 10 minutes deciding what to have. Went to the bar stood there 15 minutes, got the impression all the staff wanted to do was flirt around the young men. Eventually one asked if we were waiting to order and we said yes and started to place our order which was two steaks, a wine and a lager. When my boyfriend asked for well done it was insinuated that it would come as it comes. Waiter then queried about my age and my boyfriend pointed out at 16 people can have a glass of wine with food. I am 21. In which the waitress shouted across to a lady that I assume is the manager who appeared to be flirting around other men who then stated let her have a small one. She didn’t even look at me. The wine was handed to us in a dirty glass. This was pointed out and the waitress gave a dirty look snatched it out of my boyfriends hand and proceeded to pour it in to another glass. I retorted sorry that’s not acceptable. Which she retorted back it’s only on the outside. She was about to argue so she grabbed the top of the wine dispenser which squirted wine over the bar. My boyfriend looked at me and we agreed we didn’t want to eat there. My boyfriend said forget it to the bar woman and walked out. My boyfriend went back in to get the water still on the table only to find that because we were so long at the bar other people had occupied our table. My boyfriend looked at the bar and saw the manager and bar women scowling at him over what appeared to be the glass of wine. My boyfriend was going to say what was on his mind but I told him to leave it. I was very appalled and angry with Finnigans inn and how we have been treated.
Normally really good. However, the last two times I've ordered from here, there's missing items. I've had them refunded through Uber-Eats but still disappointed as it's left family members without parts of their meal.
I had been there once a few months back and the food was lovely, therefore decided and was looking forward to going there again. I hate writing bad reviews but honestly, the food was horrible. More so the chips, they tasted fishy. To the point where me and my partner couldn't eat them. We sat inside, unfortunately under a speaker which was then turned up. Asked if the volume could be lowered we couldn't hear eachother, that's how loud it was and was told that we would have to move table whilst we were already eating. Disappointed is an understatement, will not be going there again.
