From the initial conversation and subsequent booking with Sean, when I asked if the Inn was dog friendly and got the response ‘This is the New Forest, dogs and wellies are always welcome’ we had a superb 3 day stay in Room 3. The provision of Percolated coffee, home made cookies, real milk in the fridge and even dog shampoo were welcome surprises in the room. The food was first class and the breakfast is probably the best we have ever had whilst away from home. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was excellent. Sean and his excellent Team always went that little bit further to ensure that everything was as it should be during our stay and I would whole heartedly recommend The Filly Inn to those looking to stay in The New Forest. Thank you Team Sean.
We only ate as opposed to stayed however the food was exceptional with the cod loin gnocci dish being one of the best dishes my partner has had! Service was warm and attentive lovely quiet and contemporary atmosphere. Our mains took a little longer than expected which we didn't even notice however the manager offered us a free dessert as a good will gesture which was very unexpected and also very delicious especially the cherry sundae! Would fully recommend and will return the next time we are in the new forest! 5 stars fully deserved!
The Filly Inn itself is a gorgeous and very relaxing place, and all staff was incredibly accommodating and welcoming. The price of a room packs a great amount of perks – a quiet, clean room stocked full of toiletries, quality tea and coffee, complimentary cookies, tons of delicious breakfast options, and top notch service. All in the heart of the New Forest, easily accessible and with a lovely pub attached for the evenings. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely stay for a 30th birthday. Lovely location so close to walks and cycle tracks through the new forest and easy access to brokenhurst and the surrounding area. The room was lovely and comfortable and the food was great. The manager and her partner where extremely friendly and welcoming. Thank you for such a lovely stay and we shall be back. Rooms: Lovely room with a really comfortable bed. Realy lively walk in shower with a good selection of nice snelling shower gels and lotions Walkability: Lovely walls just across the road through the New Forest and easy access to Brokenhurst. Food & drinks: Really enjoyed the Sunday lunch and the included breakfast each more. Lovely selection of drinks at the bar from beers and spirits to cocktails and wines. Something for everyone
Went for lunch for first time since long before covid. Things have changed for the better. Service and food excellent if just a tad expensive, but very very good. Wine selection also spot on although driving do couldn't partake. There will be another day.Service: 5/5
Although the meal was cooked fine it ended up just tasting bland without any flavour and although that is perfectly fine to eat it does not warrant the price of 16£ and the overall unhealthiness of the meal which Left me feeling quite sick after the fact, maybe spend less money on microwaves and more on actually providing a satisfying experience and even then the terrible positioning of the lamps forced me to have my neck at a 45° angle else nock them over.
Had a Mothering Sunday meal at the Filly. Great lunch and nice gift of flowers and goodies to top it off . Chris provided good service throughout and an enjoyable treat for this special day.Service: 5/5
Only went in for hot drinks, great hot chocolate. Dog friendly. I think it'd be a great place to eat
Staff friendly however ordered a double burger as waiter said go to for staff. Unfortunately was clearly a cheap product greasy and unpalatable. Staff informed and hopefully the chef will address.
Lovely inn to stay at in a nice location in the new forest.great hosts & lovely staff.good food in restaurant & great Sunday roast.very good breakfast included.lovely clean & comfortable room.very very dog friendly.good local walks in roydon woods & not to far a drive to beaches.good choice of beers & ales in bar.had a lovely & relaxing 3 night stay here & would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice & relaxing stay in the new forest.plenty of parking & ideally situated between brockenhurst & Lymington. Rooms: Lovely clean & cosy room. Comfortable bed & nice walk in shower. Nearby activities: Roydon woods for nice walks & good walks near brockenhurst.not to long a drive to beaches. I visited Avon beach.really nice for a stroll with the dog. Food & drinks: Good food & great Sunday roast. Lovely breakfast.good choice of beers & ales on tap. Noteworthy details: Lovely hosts & staff.
