Access to all of the Fife pools after school is extremely hard, unless you're taking lessons or a club swimmer, access is very limited to non existent. My kids swim with out arm bands, but the youngest are not quite confident enough to be swimming in the larger pool. Two open lanes, that are being occupied by adults keen to take advantage of what little access is available. Shocking as it seems be no longer a public swimming pool, but club swimming pools. Glenrothes & Kirkcaldy are reasonably new pools too, and already they're maxed with the clubs and lessons.
I feel absolutely so safe from Covd 19 infection, The swimming pool which is my choice of exercise is very strictly controlled by staff, A safe system to lockers , A safe system to pool, and vice versa, Only one toilet open to men, simply to stop covid 19, Do not use for anything else except exercise as swimming two or three abreast is not aloud, Which I think should be banned all the time. No congregating at the Ends of pool for a natter, We can stop fo a breather. The pool is divided into three lanes with a maximum of 8 swimmers to each lane. Absolutely no changing lanes to quieter lanes, we must swim in designated lanes only, On way out it can be seen lockers used and changing cubicles being scrubbed and disinfected, Well done Cowdeneath staff. Alan Russell.
Kirkcaldy, visitors, elderly, retired and folk recovering from operations, arthritis sufferers are going to suffer when the new opening times proposed in July are actioned. 10.00am. Too late in the day. Cleaners hours being cut , health and safety being compromised. Oh , someone might turn of two showers being running hot water for weeks. Our MSP's in Edinburgh want us to take more exercise. Not possible if the hours of opening are cut and health and safety to be compromised. Wonder if the trust have advised Visit Scotland to advertise not to Visit Kirkcaldy Liesure Centre, half clean only using half the cleaners., proposed reduced hours.
Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre is a great place to help keep you fit. Lots of different classes, good gym and aqua gym. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Membership rates are very fair and if a member you can use any of the fife leisure centres.
The management pass complaints to police for hidden support. Bad news place unless you're a Fife Council or government employee.
