I love this station. Really well kept. Lots of old world features. Very friendly staff. Good facilities too.
This station always seems bigger than it should be. Four platforms! Yet a relatively small town. The past come alive as we wrestle with the legacy of our Victorian infrastructure.nnSubterranean entrance; travel by sloped tunnel from the single ticket barrier to platforms. Crowded when busy; a place of contemplative solitude when not. Stairs to platforms narrow precipitously at the summit; a quirk of history. Widen the entrances.nnFall asleep on the high speed line and end up here. The end of the line. Perfect for that role. Could be worse.

Faversham is a lovely old market town. On this day I was passing through but I have visited many times. Very oldy worldy high St with a mixture of independent and chain stores a few pubs and restaurants. Further down there is a creek with a pub on one side, Faversham Quay where you will find antique shops and specialist stores and a lovely selection of old boats. It is also home to Shepherd and Neame brewery who are famous for their Spitfire ale. There is a yearly hoo festival in the town They offer tours. There are many ancient buildings to see.nWith regards to transport, there are good rail links to London via the Medway Towns and to the Kent coast, Canterbury and the port town of Dover.
