Farmfoods is a difficult place to describe to someone who's never been. Please, see it for yourself. Even if it's only 50p's worth of bananas, or a novelty oven shelf sized rectangular pizza, you will find something they can tempt you to part with your hard earned cash for and there's the pure entertainment value of working out which of their overcomplicated special offers you have thrown randomly into your trolley as you wind from aisle to aisle. Most things are 2 for something or 3, maybe 4 or 5 for something, and that something could be £5, £10, £11, £12, £15, even £20 or £50 depending on how the economy goes and when you're reading this. Seemingly disparate items from vegetables to things in breadcrumbs, batter or pastry to jumbo sized cleaning products all lumped under a single offer. If it declares "ten for tuppence" on the shelf you can mix and match all you want. But watch you don't end up with one two for and two three fors, or they'll do you for full price on the lot. I suspect that that's how Messrs Farm and Food have found their fortune Like I say it's a strange and wondrous place, filled with rows upon rows of freezers, like Iceland in the mid 1980s but not as fancy and upmarket, but then also stacks of pallettes like you might find in Costco, but without the variety or the membership fee. Heaped up in rickety Jenga towers atop the rows of frozen delights they keep varieties of canned goods you might struggle to find elsewhere outside of your Nan's pantry, boxes of dry goods emblazoned with tartan, off-brand biscuits and big bottles of glow-in-the-dark pop. I am not sponsored in any way by Mr Farm or indeed his colleague Mr Food but I implore you to visit one of their fine establishments at the first available opportunity.
Went a couple of weeks ago was impressed with the variety of stuff they have and great prices. Well worth a trip.
This has gone down from 5* to 4*. The store still has plenty of choice and wide aisles, but their prices are no longer competitive against the big supermarkets. On my last visit Dec 2022, it seems Asda is beating Farmfoods on a number of products I buy. Still worth a visit every couple of months for the odd food items not available in the big supermarkets.
Verry refreshing after the miserable attitude of Asda staff and the same at Tesco we called on the way home and the staff there were verry cheerful and helpful. Great thanks
Variety of foods. Pastry, dairy products, dry ingredients, hygiene products and ready-made frozen foods.
Nice new store layout ... plenty of stock .... some good bargains yo be had if you buy bulk ....
Love it, the best prices for miles, the things you can buy here blow your mind!!
