About

Set in the heart of the Cotswolds, Far Peak Climbing centre is open to all ages and abilities with a dedicated climbing and bouldering wall.

Story

The Indoor Climbing Centre has main 4.5m bouldering wall, 8m top rope wall and large kids climbing area suitable for age 3 +. We have a 15m high Outdoor climbing tower with 70-80 lead and top rope climbing routes, all set in our estate woodlands.

We have over 50 bouldering blocs constantly reset across all levels and run regular instructor led sessions for children and adults, as well as club evenings, members nights, slack line evenings, kids sessions and NICAS Levels 1-4.

The actual climbing centre we enjoyed. We spent an hour or so bouldering and loved the experience. Found the routes tricker than our bouldering place. The outside wall was a dream. We love climbing in the sun. We brought food in the smoke House after and was disappointed sorry if they aren't owned by the centre two coffee and 2 sausage in a roll came to £18. Was still hungry after, too. I had to slice my own sausages to fit in the bun nicely. The wait was long for what we ordered, too vegetarian sausages popped into a bun Better veggie/ vegan options should be considered. For example, veggie sausages, hashbrown, and mushroom roll for £6 would have been more tasty and better value. It is also easy to make and adjust the menu.
We booked day tickets online even tho on the website it said you don't need to just come along. We paid £11.50p a good price to use the indoor and outdoor climbing walls. Unfortunately, there were no instructors to help us onto the outdoor wall as we are not fully comfortable setting up. After talking to Reception, they agreed the website isn't very helpful. Also, the rental shoes are falling apart, so bring your own there where people climbing the outdoor wall with walking boots.

I hadn't been here for a while, and the centre had quite a few new additions! My daughter was climbing with 4 friends with an instructor for an hour on the outside wall for her 9th birthday treat, which looked very high and lots of fun. We were able to watch them in the sun, from tables scattered around, with drinks from the cafe. There is also The Old Smokery on site, that is a place to eat and sample dmoked delights, as well as a shop to buy edible yummy food. Definitely will be back to hopefully climb myself! And would recommend to anyone wanting to try something a bit different, as people friendly and service excellent.
Booked a 1-hr private session for myself and my partner. We are both very new to rock climbing. Neil and Lizzie were our instructors who were both great. Neil was particularly insightful providing me with some tips on how to improve my climbing as well as answering any questions I had. It was safe to say my forearms/grip strength were shot pretty quickly but we both enjoyed the climbing. Will definitely be coming back as it's a fun way to get some exercise! Would recommend the private session if you're new to rock climbing
Very helpful staff and cafe is yummy, SEN aware. Wheelchair access in progress disabled parking now available.
We weren't too happy with the service there was no body to help us when we arrived, and nobody when we left... The infrastructure needs a lick of paint, but the rules are all designed and long, so if you want a good feel of long support climbs, this wall is probably the best you're going to find in the region. We really enjoyed the climbing there and will be back.
Loving this place. Doing a 6 month membership at climbing. 3 months in and official got the climbing bug . Can't get enough of it.
Fantastic camp site. Plenty of space and very helpful owners. Easy reach of places of interest too. Bit close to a busy main road in places, but didn't really affect us.
