The reviews on here puzzle me. Last review says went today and it was empty. I visited at 1.30pm today and there was approx 20 tables in? I can honestly say it was the best pub meal I've had in a long time. I opted for the smaller mixed grill. Reasonably priced and great service. Really can't complain. I know the management said they have had some issues with competitors writing false reviews...makes you wonder doesn't it. My advice, try for yourself!
Popped in for a very early tea and was immediately wowed by the decor, stunning and perfect Christmas adornments presented with style. Excellent service from a smiley blondie girl, helpful and 100% effort put in whizzing back and forth for customers. As a veggie i was pleased to see a few choices and a homemade cheese n onion pie rather than a butternut squash gloop topped with pastry. Delicious tangy lemon meringue pie for afters, yum! Definitely will be back for more x
Great food served kwik. The Fleetwood fish and chips, minted lamb shank and apple crumble are lovely.
Booked a table for 11 for Mothers day. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Even though they where very busy our food was served promptly and everyone really enjoyed their meals. The starters where generous sizes and so where the kids meals and the mains. We used to come here often before it closed and we will be definitely making regular visits again. Highly recommend for a good selection of good quality meals.
We decided to try the Fairfield Arms for our family night out as we were excited to see the transformation. The owners have done such a fantastic job, the place looks beautiful! There were 4 adults and 3 children who were kept entertained by the pool table and grabber machine! We were served by a lovely waitress, who has a smile on her face at all times. It was really busy when we visited, and we expected a wait on food, however the time it took for the food to arrive was more than acceptable! When the food came, we were very impressed with the quality! Real home cooked food. We will be regular visitors, and can't wait to try out the beer garden in the summer as the play area for the kids looked fab!
Came here with a few friends for tea yesterday. Really enjoyed it, the staff were very helpful and pleasant and the cheese and onion pie was the best I had ever eaten! My friends enjoyed the 2 pizzas for £15 and said they were lovely. After food we stayed for a few drinks and tried a selection of the Gins they have. Overall, really enjoyed our visit and will be back again soon!
Good meals for a fair price plus friendly staff, well worth a visit, enjoyed the experience very much.
Was here yesterday evening and ordered a couple of meals for me and a friend. The turnaround of the meals was quick which I think was down to much of the food being microwaved. I ordered a pie which was dry inside and had really chewy undercooked pastry. My veg had dried out because I think it's had been under a hot plate prior to my order. I may have ordered the food just before the cooks normally close the kitchen down but I expect the same level of food they they would serve earlier during the day. For a family pub that charges over £11.00 for pie and chips, I expect a much better quality of food, when it was plainly obvious the cooks could not be bothered.
Good afternoon. My husband and I ate at the Fairfield Arms PR4 3HE yesterday 8th March. We placed our order at 14.58 according to the till slip and were told that worst case scenario, the waiting time for the food would be 30 minutes. There were not very many people eating at the time. If we had been told that the wait would be any longer, we would have gone somewhere else. Our meals arrived 53 minutes later - certainly not acceptable. I asked the manager if the kitchen staff had a break at 15.00, which might explain some of the delay but was told that waiting time was usually 45 minutes. Why? By the time we got our food we were virtually the only ones eating. Can hardly kick up a fuss then, can we - we've paid! A couple of years ago there was a chef in our local pub who was so slow, we were convinced the chickens were freshly caught and plucked and the eggs collected as per order. He has since moved on thank goodness! and the chef who took his place can cope with a full restaurant at a considerably faster speed. You should perhaps suggest the same to your chef. The food, when it came, was by no stretch of the imagination a "good" pub meal. The cheese and onion pie - the filling covered about a third of the depth of the dish and was reminiscent of cheese sauce, with a mediocre piece of frozen pastry plonked on top and some poorly cooked vegetables why was the sweetcorn brown - how old was it? My jacket potato was slightly better - although the "roasted vegetables" tasted as though they had been fried and it was a pretty small quantity. I don't remember much else apart from onion. The goats cheese sat on the top and, yes, it had been grilled. You can hardly go wrong with a small dish of commercially prepared coleslaw and a scrap of lettuce for garnish can you? Can I ask what sort of an idiot puts the portions of butter cold under the potato hot - when I picked the portions up the melted butter drizzled sadly out of the wrapping. Not a meal to remember. Regards PS - the email address for customer services on the till slip is no longer valid!
A huge let down. Second visit and another poor experience. Went for a meal four people. Service was poor, Guinness tasted of disinfectant, although mixed grill was rather large and well cooked it was incomplete. Asked for dessert at 9:20pm staff said kitchen had closed but reluctantly served a poor excuse for a dessert. Heating and music turned off at 9:45, staff started mopping floor and finishing off, pub closed at 10pm. Not what we expected when trying to socialise and catch up with our guests . Very poor, not customer focused establishment. Such a shame as it has so much potential.
