Friendly staff and easy excess to the town

This station barely has any staff presence at all. This makes it a bit of a target for anti-social behaviour. It also means there can be an aggressive free-for-all when the platform is crammed and there’s no more room on the trains. There isn’t anywhere in the station to get food or drink. There are some vending machines, but it’s 50/50 if they’re working. Basically, I’m no big fan of this station. I avoid it when I can.

On 23 Feb 2018, I bought tickets travelling from St David Exeter to Coventry (with railcard 16-25). On the way there I realised that I forgetten my railcard, I decided to approach the staff counter at St David Station for help, the staff told me to purchase a new set new tickets. (I already have an existing pair of tickets travelling for St David Exeter which costed 68.70), so I paid addition of 120.25. The staff told me that once I got back to Exeter present my tickets and receipt to any train station (Exeter St David or Exeter Central) for refund for the tickets which costed 120.25. Today, I went to Exeter Central, the staff refused to listen to the matter and kept empahasising that there is no refund, and told me if I want a refund go back to St David Exeter. He was extremely rude, and I felt he was being racist. If you are a minority purchasing or enquiring at Exeter Central, be careful of the racist slightly old man (wearing specs) The worst experience I had being a customer for 3 years. FYI: I previously interacted with this racist man he was rude to us previously, but he was polite when the people he is serving is white.

Ladies toilets are revolting, sorry to say...but understandable given the amount of people using them! Smelly, lock didn't work...and only two cubicles. But overall a fairly clean, easy to use station with friendly staff.

Everytime I use the service at central always come across the same miserable bloke who wears glasses and is always too busy on his phone to help you. It's unreal how he still has a job.
