A lovely oasis in the city. Beautiful gardens and water feature above Liverpool Street Station. Seating and bars. Grass and shallow water. 10/10 to Broadgate Estates for creating this habitat.
I pass by Liverpool street quite often, most times walking through the station, either street level mezzanine or platform level... Rarely walk around the station... But one day I decided, out of the blue, to walk around the station... Boy, what a surprise it was to find this place that I call the "hidden gem" of Liverpool Station... A small square at the "back" of the train station... An oasis of greenery, art there's a beautiful sculpture there, impossible not to notice it and a serene atmosphere that makes you feel you're not in a busy part of London anymore... Take five minutes from your journey and "transport" yourself to this hidden garden for a few minutes...
Right next to the one of the busiest stations of London - Liverpool Street, this small green space is a real escape opportunity for travellers who have to wait for their train for a longer time. It's good any time of the year, but particularly enjoyable in warm weather. The platforms are located within about 3 minutes walking distance from here. It's nice and tidy, well-designed and comfortable. I can definitely recommend this place. Picnic area: Excellent place for having some sandwiches, snacks or food while waiting for the train.
This review is for Sun street Passage, Amazon Locker Pick up. Located off Primrose Street, next to Exchange Square. If you are coming from Primrose Street, it is not obvious to find. I only saw the street name at the other end of the tunnel, which is closer to Liverpool Street Station. If you google 'Yadiel' The Locker name, it will not come up in the search, nor will Sun Street Passage and you can't exactly leave a review for a tunnel, can you? I was looking for Yellow lockers, not Blue, so it's a good job I checked it out first. I have yet to use the locker, but came to find it on my e bike, as I just couldn't figure it out from the map. I will update this review, once I have used the Bluetooth App system. I just wanted to put the locker on the map, so others can find it. I gave a minus one star for no road markings from Primrose Street. Best Dx
A nice place to sit and relax over lunch break or whenever. The views of the skyline from here are nice too. The plants here are also lovely. On supper sunny days, the flat from the bright groovy tiles can be binding though. Picnic area: Great for lunch
Hidden oasis, cleverly merged urban buildings and wild flowers The station also looks great in this position
For its size, one of the most tranquil, beautiful gardens in London to spend office breaks in. So peaceful, plants left to grow long and natural. A lot of effort goes into this from the gardeners and it's always appreciated.
My favorite place to relax in London. Right next to Liverpool Street station. You can see the tracks. Lovely place to have a break, every season has it's charm. In the summer there's a big screen for Wimbledon, a bar and comfy relax chairs. There are tables and chairs as well where you can have lunch. During the holiday season there's a winter forest and a winter bar chalet. I come here everytime I'm in London.
Great place, peaceful and most beautiful area in Central London
Early Nineties developed open space with fountain suspended over Liverpool Station’s rail-lines and surrounded by an aggregate of post 1980’s commercial buildings excepting the simple 19th.Century train shed fringed in wooden barge-boards. The elegant ‘bridged’ Exchange House 1990 on the northern side again effortlessly spanning the railway-lines, surely counts amongst London’s most innovative and accomplished modern buildings. Purposed spot to undo the knot+top button, let it all hang out - just like the Broadgate Venus do.
