Reading all the negative reviews I have still decided to giving them a chance as needed to rent a car for a couple of days. Had a warm welcome from a lovely lady behind the desk, I had to wait about 15 mins for the car to get ready but I think it’s exceptional. Car was fine for the whole time and I have even extended it for an extra day and it wasn’t trouble for them. Even returning the car was hassle free, deposit was sorted 2 days later so Top service thank you very much.
Trying to talk to Customer service is very much a task in itself. I wanted to return a vehicle which had been extended a couple of times, however the branch I needed to get in contact with Maidstone avoids calls through to them. Now I’ve been put on a watchlist and charged additional fees for bringing the car late even though there is a ton of evidence supporting I tried to contact the branch to arrange pick up. All emails giving me warnings about having the car too long were sent to my junk which is funny as all other emails from them sent straight to my inbox. I don’t think it’s a terrible company overall and I’ve had some lovely cars from there, just be careful as they will try to have you on if you give them an opportunity to do so.
After driving my rental car back to Staplehurst, I discovered that my left front tire was completely BALD! Due to my busy schedule, I could not return to Europcar in Maidstone; where they probably would have changed cars and not the tire, I just kept the car for the few days I had rented it for. Fortunately the weather was dry everyday except for the last day when I had to drive to Heathrow Airport in the pouring rain where I returned the car. Also both rear tires were under-inflated.
This number doesn't work. Been on hold for 5 hours leaving messages. My car was supposed to arrive yesterday at 5pm. We have no car and a son in a wheelchair. Client services suggestion is arrange a new car with a different branch because they can't get through either - wow.
Hiring car fine. Service fine. Trying to get holding deposit back awful. Told it was released but their bank hasn't done it so looks like 2 payments going from my account. Email will take up to 7 working days for a response & up to 10 working days fir deposit release!! Nit happy
The staff member who delivered the car was in a hurry to get away and advised the defects on the car were listed. In fact only one was accurate. The car has a sickly disgusting smell even after 4 days. The car is dirty covered in watery streaks and dust inside. As the smell wasn’t getting better after 2 days I attempted to contact the branch but there was no answer. In the end I contacted the national helpline who managed to get through and he ended being the messenger boy. I was very disappointed that no one offered a call back when they were less busy. The best offer that was made was for me to do a round trip of about 80 miles to sit and wait for the car to be cleaned or if possible change the car. This is a company I would reluctantly deal with again.
Have been waiting 4 days for hire car to be collected. Tried same as everyone else. Telephone calls, emails. Both to branch and head office. Why would anyone use this hire company. If you want an example of a failing company this is it. No customer service. No care. I'm looking forward to my automatic bland reply to this complaint. Avoid at all costs
Would give zero if I could. This is without a doubt the worst experience ever with any company. An absolute joke to be honest. Was supposed to pick up a rental car on Monday was told it was an all day collection so waited in and nobody came at all no call to say they could not attend nothing. Then when I asked what was happening was basically told tough there wasn’t enough drivers !! So was promised a call the next day to arrange another collection and low and behold nothing again !! No courtesy call no anything no communication at all. Then four days later basically telling me that I am stealing the car and refusing to return it . An absolute disgrace with they way I was spoken to shame on you all at Europcar. Left on hold for over an hour then cut off. Told lies after lies. Then to top it all off was promised the first collection on Saturday morning at 10am and yes you guessed it no one turned up and no call !!!! Total and utter disgusting behaviour AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Don’t even deserve a star! I currently have a loan car from them. Terrible service!!! I have a mititbility car I thought I would be looked after. My car broke down and I never got a hire care until over a week later!! Then they offered a manual car and I said do many times I had to have an automatic!! Yesterday a yellow warning light came up in the hire car , I phoned for help, hit answerphone i left message and emailed twice and NO response!! My car will hopefully be ready next week. You will have to pick up your car from Barrets Mini Ashford!!! Toni Huxley
I had an issue with my booking due to the way the car is advertised on the website and this would have become the worst experience if it wasn't for the manager Karolis who was very understanding and helpful. He was very professional when dealing with my issue and reassuring me that he will do his best to resolve it and he did. Karolis went above and beyond to ensure that my experience is swift and easy. The car was perfect, returning it was very straightforward, and all was okay! Would definitely recommend, EuropCar Maidstone will always be my go-to from now on!
