Had a great day out with my partner and 2 kids. We were greeted by a welcoming fire in the booking hall, which had an immediately nostalgic effect. Very friendly, enthusiastic and informative staff, who clearly love what they do. The stations and the rolling stock are well preserved with constant ongoing restoration. Parking is at a premium and local residents have recently employed a private company to impose fines on those who park close by without a residents permit.

Excellent little railway with such friendly volunteers, great locos and facilities. It's also so easy to get to from London which is a bonus! I went to the diesel gala which was fab; the highlight was the driver for a fiver which was well worth it. Will definitely return soon.

Nice heritage line. Very pleasant staff. Went on a Gala weekend & 7 trains running & vintage buses. Also driver for a fiver & cab rides for a fiver. A great day had by Myself, Partner, Dad, 14 year old & a 2 & 1 year old. Under 3's free. Cost £66 including unlimited train & bus rides for us all.

A delightful day out as part of a coach trip in this very quaint part of Essex! To think that tube trains used to run along the line until over 20 years ago. In the depths of the countryside with not a building in site in most parts of the line. Notable features to look out for are the former Blake Hall station, going under the M11 motorway and seeing the light aircraft takeoff and land at North Weald Airfield.
