I had a very bad experience at the dentist about 9 years ago and since that day I have really, really battled to go to the dentist. I managed to avoid it for the most part but my teeth were in pain. I need/needed a lot of work done. A fear like this can be crippling, as it seems to spill over into all areas of your life. I couldn't chew properly, I longed to bite into an apple and just not worry about my teeth constantly.
I became obsessed with teeth breaking or fillings etc., falling out. Which did happen.  
I went to many dentists to try and establish a relationship with them where I felt safe but I was getting nowhere. 
I met Dr A McCarthy once and already I was feeling a little better about things. So far I've had a few treatments from him and I actually look forward to seeing him! (That is a major change as I would see the word dentist and freak out). 
The staff are all so friendly and kind right from the receptionist to the Dental Assistants. If you are scared give it a go, is my advice, if I can get this far so can you. I cannot rate this dentist and his team highly enough. It is life changing.

I have had previous dental traumas which left me pretty dental phobic. Despite this I attended for six monthly check ups religiously, but with great trepidation.  The turnover of staff at my last practice was high and I kept seeing different individuals.  Due to my previous experiences, I wanted to attend the same dentist so he could get to know me and my teeth!! 
I attended today for an extraction by Dr McCarthy and can HONESTLY say that I did not feel a thing. Obviously there was a bit of loosening and pulling but absolutely no pain or discomfort. Thank you so much. I will now attend my six monthly check ups with much less angst :) :).

Care and attention given by Dr McArthy and his team is second to none extractions painless crown looks great and bottom dentures fit. Really delighted.
Cheerful receptionist friendly dental nurse. Dr McArthy has a good sense of humour and explained everything so well. My husband has changed to the same practice and is also very pleased with his treatment.
