Had a family Birthday evening here for 17 people on Friday, arranged on a recommendation by a friend. Food was excellent, 3 courses at a great price. Steak served on a hot stone as good as any expensive place we had been to in Belfast. Service was excellent too by polite and attentive staff. Very positive feedback from all of our party.
Popped in for lunch for 4 of us. Nice staff, good coffee and atmosphere. However we ordered the Toasted Ciabatta and beef roll, both had obviously been warmed up in the microwave and were really soggy bread and the beef was dry. When you don't have much to offer in terms of toasted sandwiches, you should make sure they are actually toasted. The salad meals on the table next to us looked much better. Shame really but I doubt we will be back.
Great food, lovely staff and served in a creative and comfortable setting. Their frys especially are very good.
Steak on the stone First place we went out after being shielding from the start of lockdown. We couldn't have picked a better place, felt safe as they have all the covid safety precautions in place. The service was 2nd to none and food was great, we couldn't go passed the fillet steak cooked on the stone looking forward to coming back and doing it all again. Thanks 81
We went here mid morning not a great selection I had a breakfast bap which was nice. My friend asked for this without relish but was informed that the relish was already on the bap so she had a sausage roll instead. Don't think we'll be hurrying back.
Ordered a carb-free fry all day fry minus the soda and potato bread got extra egg and black pudding with poached eggs and a cappuccino. That was fine but the poached eggs were not cooked enough there was clear white which should be white white. As in so many places that serve 'cappuccino' what I actually got was a milky coffee with a slightly frothy top.
Took my wife out for a post lockdown dinner in her favourite place in holywood 81. Both had the steak stones, picture speaks for itself!! 10/10, lovely starters and wine too. Screens provided for safety added a nice romantic touch!
Eighty one is not the same . Chicken brocoli bake over heated and pastry not fresh . We use to go all the time . It's not great food now unfortunately
