Story

The Edinburgh School of English was founded in 1969 and has gained a reputation as one of the UK's leading langue schools. We pride ourselves on our capacity to deliver a variety of intensive langue courses to suit both adults and young learners of any ability.

We believe that exploring the culture of a country is essential to a student's understanding it's langue. At ESE we synthesis the teaching of English with a comprehensive cultural programme in order to give students the opportunity to develop their linguistic skill through the joys of cultural exchange.

The programmes for 17 year olds and older, available all year round, are designed for general English communication skills, professional and academic purposes with preparation for Cambridge and IELTS examinations.

We also offer langue courses during the summer for children and teenagers aged 7- 17 years old. Our programmes exemplify our philosophy that learning English should be part of a cultural immersion that is aided by engaging teachers who structure and support the process.

The Edinburgh School of English is a member of English UK and is accredited by the British council.
