I have ordered from here quite a bit and have dined in about 3 times, even celebrated my birthday here twice. The people are very friendly and welcoming and make you feel very comfortable, they are happy to get you whatever you need. Most importantly in my experience, over the years the taste and quality of the food has remained consistent which is rare. These days restaurants and takeaways are hit and miss but Eastern palace food rarely disappoints. Also when eating in or ordering a takeaway they are very fast at getting your food to you nice and hot and they have never messed any of my orders. Only negative is the price of a bottle, they charged more than double what you would pay in a supermarket/off licence but times are hard so I understand. Kid-friendliness: Brought my 9 month old with us they were smiling and interacting with her and also provided us with a cute high chair not the standard wood ones you usually get when you eat out.
I didn't take pictures cause the food was smelling so nice; me n my friend got home and opened up the boxes to meet fortune cookies and chips! So cute she gave us those as extra. °^° we took sweet n sour pork and chicken then some king prawn noodles along with pancake roll which I was expecting many but it was one huge one. All together £23. Service was 10min wait. Excellent patience with me n my friend hahaha. Food portion was exactly how I expected. <3 everything was so good, nothing overcooked meat was so warm and flavoured. However the pancake roll was kind of bland. Deffo a hidden gem.
This place is a mixed bag for me. As you can see I have ordered from here a few times. My favourite spicy dish is the roast duck and green pepper in black bean sauce which gets a five star around £6. Luckily it was the first thing I ordered and that's why I returned. Other dishes I have tried would get a 1 star unfortunately so I was going to write a separate review and upload separate pictures for that but I will do it here as Google doesn't allow multiple reviews. I would avoid the shredded crispy beef which wasn't crispy and full of too much batter and the Kung po chilli chicken was a disappointment around £6 a portion each. Both of these dishes were overly sweet and vinegary. I can't remember the lamb and veg dish I ordered but it was decent not bad but not too nice either. What doesn't help is if you ask the elderly lady for recommendations she gets irritated. I ordered the special fried rice and would prefer a lighter fried rice rather than the dark chewy soy sauce type here or next time will order plain rice. The other delicious star item for me is the freshly fried banana fritters and the perfect sugar syrup it comes with around £3. Very delicious.
Had a Fantastic evening with 5 of my friends for my 60th Birthday. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive. We all enjoyed our meals and had food left over so we took it home. Thank you for making my Landmark Borthday a memorable one. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options available
My fav chinese resturant and a family fav. They always keep our special table for us when we go. Great tasting food and and great prices
Lovely tasty food Arrived hot. Huge portions. Good value for money. Usual standard for the palace, again.
My first time and last time....I would class myself as a connoisseur with Asian food, and know what iy should look like and and taste like...I orderd a take away with the lady saying there food is lovely and she guarantees I will be back lol, oh dear me one of the dishes was sweet and sour pork Cantonese style which I've had many times from many restaurants this sauce was a dismal brownish colour but initially when I took the lid off o could smell a medicine kinda chemical smell which really put me off plus the colour, when I tasted the food it tasted like the smell and come too realise it was the pineapple that was offf and when I realised when I put it in my mouth the taste was so pungent and stung my mouth, the curry sauce pot had a hole and by the time I got home the sauce had drained out the bottom into the brown paper bag,I can go on about the rest of the dishes but I will leave it at that!! As when I called too complain all I was told is what do I want them to do as I said I wasn't coming bk and it's my worst experience and a waste of £23 there lucky I never dined in, I would not of paid!@@@@
Absolutely great food service fantastic. Very friendly I have already recommended friends to the restaurant and they love it. Kid-friendliness: Making sure that everything is OK with the children and checking up to see if everything is OK so friendly nice family run restaurant
Over prices based on the food quality. Staff was friendly and slow service
Disappointing with the food tonight especially on Xmas eve! Very oily and greasy, think it was rushed. Crispy shredded chilli beef was soggy, Chow mien was oily, the only thing I did enjoy was the ribs but then they were meant to be dry as well but again very greasy. Have used this place many times and this has to the dissatisfied time Iv had
