I lived nearby for 20 years and Moon Lee was an excellent takeaway even when i moved i'd still go back but now i would never go there after my experience, it's run by Asians now who are obviously not into Chinese cooking! It's sad 'cos the Moon Lee was a bit of my history but now their food is not worth the money. It's funny that my old fave Chinese restaurant 'Wings' in East India Dock rd used to be great untill Asians took over it! Stick to what you know best, Chinese cooking, Asian cooking both excellent menus but how many Chinese do you see running Indian restaurants??
OMG the worst Chinese i've ever tasted!! The chicken satay was in some indian sauce and the squid!! Well lets just say, i'm put off squid for life!!! Honestly I wasn't expecting great things from the place but I wasn't quite expecting to leave everything… Even the ribs smelt old!! YUCK YUCK YUCK!!!! STAY CLEAR!!! I'm put off Chinese food food after this horrible experience. Feel sick thinking about it!
The worse Chinese take away I have ever had. Special chow mein contained 2 tiny prawns, 2 small rubbery chunks of chicken and 1 piece of beef, along with almost havle a whole onion un chopped. Tasted terrible. Satay chicken was in a sauce that was like water. Shameful. Threw most of it away and ate stale cereal instead which was far far better than Moon Lees excuse for food.
Takeaways thrown on the cobbles after a drunkard spree would taste far more superior to than Moon Lee’s toxic takeaway. Portions, I’ve seen more meat on a butcher's apron than theirs. I wish the trading standards would take them away instead….Preferably to the moon. Poisonous!
The worst chinky I've ever had. I can't understand why Asians have a Chinese when their speciality is obvious! I wouldn't recommend that takeaway to even my mother-in-law...!
Moon Lee gets two stars for being sub standard msg gruel with a mere tickle of meat in each dish. But wins a third star for getting name checked by Wiley. Bow E3
Delivery took 2hours, food was cold when it arrived and tasted bad
