A facebook post reminded me of my trip to Matlock and visiting this place. After walking in, we were initially a bit reticent as it seemed much more 'local' than most gastropubs we've been too. I'm glad we weren't put off, as the staff were excellent. The best Carvery I've ever eaten was at this place - so much so, that nearly two years later I'm writing a review about it. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Shocking, it is not a site for caravans and there is only 1 shower which was disgusting, electric kept going off and is not worth 20 quid a night. The new owners have not got a clue how to run a this site!!!! And they did not warn us about how steep the entrance was resulting in wrecking our jockey wheel!!!

Carvary was really nice and so was the staff, Delisous meaty thick gravy which makes a nice change from other places that think watery bisto and frozen Yorkshire puddings is acceptable. I don't think so
