Doctors are great. Reception are unhelpful even down right awkward. I called for an appointment for my son who was really ill. Told me that they were full all day and I should use the walkin centre. My wife called and got an an appointment! They fob you off to the walkin centre as much as they can. You can never get through by phone and by the time you do there is no appointments anyway. When you really need medical attention your going to wish you weren't registered here.

Its funny that the receptionist trying to act as a trained doctor and giving medical suggestions.. How they supposed to do that? And she also want me to tell her what's my medical condition and why i need to see a doctor. And how am supposed to discuss my personal medical condition to a person who dont know more than booking an appointment? Doctors are really nice if you get to see one. But these receptionist are ridiculous.

I signed up to this medical centre when I moved to the area 18 months ago. On two the last three occasions the reception team have managed to make mistakes when booking appointments. On both occasions the appointment was confirmed with me on the phone, only for me to arrive for the appointment and find that either it was not booked at all, or it was booked for the following month instead. The remarkable thing is their ability to make you feel that it was your own fault, despite having the confirmation info to hand.

I have been with this GP since I was a baby and it was brilliant 10 years ago but has got poorer every year. Now it's unbearable but I'm stuck with them. Apart from two incidents a while back and this nurse has definitely gone now the doctors are usually very polite and empathetic. The building is very modern and homely. But it's mainly the whole way the place works is awful. 1st incident was being rejected for a prescription as the nurse claimed I was apparently pregnant with refusal of test or evidence to back her assumption. 2nd was requesting a simple note to be exempt from heavy lifting at work and ending up almost getting signed off for 6 months which then consumed my whole day to get rectified. Just down to lack of listening. I had to argue for 8 years that something's not normally only to be prodded and vaguely diagnosed with a condition after a simple poke about. Waited 6 years for a blood test result but was never told that it was down to me to call for results. Good thing I'm clear. Their dermatologist at the time (2012) was either having an off day or didn't bknow the difference between an obvious birthmark and mole. Many times I have been told one thing by a trained GP, then the receptionist (not trained) won't comply and basically take my issue into their own desgression. I'm sure some notes and details are missing on my file too. Been explicitly told that appointments need to be made on the day at 8am to get one. They do not take advance. Which normally means constantly fighting with everyone else for a phone line for 10-45 minutes. Then it's pot luck if they have any spaces. And not to forget the many occasions that I've had to wait 40+ minutes after my scheduled appointment to be seen. Finally, despite needing a pescription for my pills that I can't acquire without a checkup by a GP (been told that). I have luckily been able to get a month to keep me going with no check over as they are apparently filled up today (8:10am) and tomorrow (but we can't make advance appointments apparently). And I now have a month advance appointment. It's clear the communication between the staff is poor and the "rules" are not clear. So if you sign up to this GP. Book the day off work, prepare for stress, don't expect anything solved quickly, be ready to be judged by the receptionists, locate your redial button on your phone. If you can solve it yourself you may as well and save yourself the tonne of hassle. Edit: Dropping it to 1* from 2*. They "lost" my prescription that day but magically "found" a slot for the same day after I kicked off and told them how they kept giving me grief. So once again my day has been taken up getting messed about. They said they'd cancel my month in advance appointment now they've managed to perform that little miracle. Nope, got a letter basically complaining that I was a "no show" for that appointment and that I "should ring to cancel my appointment as other patients could've been seen" and I will now have a black mark on my record. Well if the staff actually pulled their heads out of their backsides and stopped pretending to be doctors and canceled it like they said then yeah, someone else could've had it. Rang again... And again... And again as I'm being kept up all night in pain. 20minutes later there are no appointments, no suprise. >>>
