Having been referred to an nhs consultant but told that the wait could be up to a year, I went to see Meryl Glover, Specialist Hand Therapist, in the hope that she could help with my hand problem in the interim. Meryl was absolutely wonderful. Generous with her time and clearly very experienced in her field, she was pretty certain what my problem was immediately, although I have had multiple tests but no diagnosis. She explained to me how to help myself and made me a really good hand splint at no extra charge. This I have worn overnight and tried to apply what I was told and you would not recognise my now much more functional hand after 1 month. Wholeheartedly recommended.
I trekked down from Staffordshire to see Dr Fiona Lewis for my vulval issue, as I’d heard she was very good with vulval issues. I was so disappointed- she was so dismissive and patronising. I subsequently thought as she was so dismissive, that there must be nothing wrong with me- after all she’s the expert! A year later my issue was correctly diagnosed as vulval lichen planus. It’s not even the misdiagnosis that’s so upsetting though that’s bad enough it was her whole attitude toward me, after I had travelled such a long way
Went to the bridge clinic to see the Dermatologist 'Dr Alia Ahmed', i had a skin problem behind my ears so i decided to pay privately to see her. She told me it was acne based and i felt like she was almost mocking me about it rather than being supportive. Her diagnosis was acne based and prescribed me 2 months of antibiotics whi h really didnt help, she was also saying that further to the antibiotics i should consider plastic surgery and operations with her colleague. Antibiotics did nothing, i subsequently went into a pharmacist in spain who told me instantly that it was impetigo and prescribed me a antibiotic ointment which cleared it up in about 2-3 days with no scarring. Ive also studied her google reviews which i how i was duped. Its obvious now to me that she pays people to put positive review. Google Dr Alia Ahmed and go through her reviews and youll notice the scam. Bridge medical centre youre enabling a fraudster by letting this woman practice at your premises. I honestly think she never wanted to help me
My family has used the Bridge Clinic on a number of occasions, for gynaecology & scanning appointments. We have always found the medical treatment to be first class, & staff highly professional.
Wholeheartedly agree with last reviewer that given as masks are no longer mandatory, if the clinic request that visitors wear them, they should at least let patients know this in advance or be prepared to provide some for those who have not brought their own. I was treated like dirt by a very rude old lady on reception because I did not have one on me. She was exceptionally unpleasant and clearly needs a job where she does not have to deal with the public! That said, the consultants are brilliant and I have never had a bad experience with anyone before.
If Boris and the government said I don't need to wear a mask, and that vaccines are widely available, then I'd appreciate not being looked down upon for forgetting to wear a mask into the reception. I'd also like masks to be made available outside if the policy is "masks required". Like the elderly lady after me, I'd rather not wait in the rain for you to come out, mask me up and get my temperature. No gripes with the doctors, but the clinic and the reception seem a little 1950's.
Friendly and attentive staff who actually have the time to understand your needs.
I had my varicose veins surgery at the clinic with Dr Ed Sideso. He did the Excellent job. I'm Very Very Pleased!! I had never ever thought that one day I would be able to wear shorts. Because my legs were awful with bulging veins and always wore trousers. But now I wear shorts with confidence. Also used to get very painful cramp. Now no more pain and cramp. I'm so happy that I can not express how much!! Thank you Dr Sideso!! I strongly recommend the Dr Sideso and the clinic . Also The secretary Angela is just wonderful and helpful. The team is just amazing. The clinic staffs are very friendly too. We are very pleased with their service and care. Thank you so much!!
A wonderful advert for the NHS, and example that you don't always get what you pay for. I will never visit this place again. The building itself is somewhat rundown, and needs a good lick of paint. The staff were very pleasant, but the experience and uniforms did feel like a timewarp to the 60s, but without any good music. First, the positives: The 15-20 minute consultation I had with the ENT specialist Mr Aldren, was kindly slotted in at the end of the day, with 24hrs notice - which i was very thankful for. Now the negatives: I've never experienced upselling, or cross-selling in a doctors until this point, but my appointment started by seeing if i needed to see his audiologist at the same time, or if he could send her home. I could tell that he was interested in leaving as soon as possible, and brought up the fact that he had a recital that evening for violin or something, as he had a big performance over the weekend. Nevertheless, they had fitted me in with 24hrs notice, so I was thankful someone was able to see me. I informed him that I had a series of blood tests recently, that he said he would follow up with my GP, and come back to me on the Monday, shortly after i reiterated that I would not be able to privately fund an extensive course of any treatments, and was just there for a consultation as I'd been very up front with his secretary about it there was an abrupt change in Mr Aldren's interaction with me. He stopped making eye contact and started signing papers at his desk, which felt like a clear passive aggressive indication to me that my time was up. I politely thanked him for his time, and wished him a good recital, and weekend. The next time I heard from the practice was with an invoice, which was higher than the amount I was originally quoted. This was just before Corona Virus swept across the globe, and unfortunately took my industry along with it for the foreseeable future. I spoke to his secretary about this, and explained that a the invoice was high, and b i had never heard back from him as he had promised. She said she would look into this. The next time I heard from them, was via a debt collection agency, who I have now paid. It transpires they have been sending all communication to the wrong address, despite me confirming my address with them, and writing it on the form when I arrived. The level of communication, and competency they offered me was more akin to a budget broadband provider, than what I'd expect as a premium healthcare customer and let's be frank, in this exchange i feel like a customer, not a patient. I wish i'd just donated the £250 to charity. At least someone may have benefited from it. Please cherish and support the NHS. The alternative is entirely grim.
I had my Australian immigration medical done here. What an amazing experience from a friendly front of house, to a loverly hca who did my tests, to a kind and friendly radiographer and finally to the lovely GP who saw me, making me feel at ease and went the extra mile for me. I went on Friday and he sent the medical to Australian immigration by Monday! Top service thank you all!
