Fabulous selection of German beers, the best Guinness and amongst wide variety of whiskeys they have their own brand also. Great atmosphere and unique character.

A Waterford institution. Great pints and great staff. Could possibly be my favourite pub, up there with the greats. Order your drinks, sit down with your friends and while away the hours, then wonder if it would be so bad if ye did this every week for the rest of your days. You cannot put a price on comfort but Downes's is 'the' easy pub you need to experience.
Another must visit pub on your bucket list in Waterford City. Fantastic pint of Guinness in a quirky old traditional pub. Always made welcome by John & his team. Thumbs up.

Gorgeous experience, lovely pub atmosphere while totally adhering to covid protocol!!! It was fantastic to have a pub experience while feeling safe and covid restrictions in place a little bit of alchemy on behalf of owners and staff!!!
