The food tasted good, but ordered a chicken 65 and received an item similar to chilli chicken they said this is how they make chicken 65. Please update your menu description accordingly so people won't be confused.
First time at Dosa Hut and I was impressed by the upstairs sitting space in particular; the booths were comfortable and the toilets were clean. As for the service, it was friendly and efficient with an average wait time of about five minutes for food, which is impressive by any restaurant standard.nAs for the food; I ordered the chilli paneer and fries as a starter. The paneer was soft and fresh and smothered in a sticky, spicy sauce. There was a slight imbalance from sauce to paneer ratio, however it was one of the best dishes of the evening. The fries were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, perfect as chips go. For the main I ordered the plain dosa and the dosa itself was very crispy and absolutely gigantic, but the sambar was far too spicy and hit the back of the throat upon eating. Three chutneys came with the meal: a coconut, a tomato based, and a chilli/mint. Out of the three I’d recommend the tomato as it was flavourful and a sweet relief from the spice of everything else. The chilli/mint chutney was refreshing and cut the grease of the dosa, although the coconut chutney left much to be desired as it was quite bland possessed a slightly dry texture.nFor dessert I ordered the chocolate ice-cream and an Irish coffee. The coffee was generously topped with whipped cream and had a deep bitter flavour, but the Jameson whisky added was very overpowering and had little flavour. The coffee would have suited better with Bailies or even a sweeter brew. The chocolate icecream was rich, creamy and perfectly sweetened. I would happily come back just for a scoop.nnOverall I would rate Dosa Hut 3.5/5 as the attentive service and fast delivery really carried the experience, although all the dishes I ordered were over-spiced and lacking depth. Out of all the dishes the dosa, as the name of the restaurant implies, was the signature dish of the evening. In my humble opinion, adding a milder sambar to the menu and sweeter chutneys for dipping would gain another star for the eatery. Hats off to the chefs for the perfect crispy dosa.nn-P.R
Fantastic food! If I had to suggest, get the Chicken Lollipop, Prawn Masala or Chettinad Chicken and any bread/rice of your choice. Oh also special mention: Poori and Chole Bhature! The best Indian Restaurant I have eaten in the West Midlands!nnService was friendly and food came out pretty quick! Dont forget to finish off your meal by popping in for a Chai at their Cafe next door: Chai Galli!nnP.s. Highly recommend going with a group of friends or family and ordering different dishes to share! You wont regret it!
