We drove out of our way to find this little pub today, was very relieved to find a quaint characteristic building with lovely surroundings. Unfortunately it was closed so we didn't get to see the inside or sample any food it drinks.. but it looked like the kind of place we would have enjoyed, and the sun was shining - so 5 stars
Cycle touring through in extreme heat which then turned to heavy rain 2 miles from the pub. We stayed on the field for the night. Beautifully mown grass. Shame it was raining heavily and we turned up so late. By the time the tent and tarp was up and we were showered we didn't have a chance to check out the pub, we just passed out. £5 squid each. Now thats what I'm talking about. The highlight was the amazing showers which is what you want after a hard day in the saddy. 20p for 4 minutes of the most wondrous shower.... So we blew 80p in to total between us, the bathrooms had a wonderful pine aroma.... Until the black pudding, egg and baked bean bap passed through but the extractor fan worked well. Thankyou.
This was a return visit by our club during the Welsh Castles Relay. Again Chris and the team were so friendly and welcoming, with food orders taken immediately we arrived. Everyone was pleased with the hearty and tasty perfect post-race food, and no one complained about the portions - which is unusual! The bunkhouse & shower rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the camping field is perfect. We plan to return in 2020 please!
Proper good traditional pub. The Sunday roast left all five of our group happy. We were made to feel welcome. Quiet and relaxing drink outside in the sun was enjoyable. Only 3 miles up the road so will definitely be going back for second helpings.
Excellent little country pub with great camping barn, firm dry camping area, very friendly staff owners and locals who all made us feel really welcome. Arrived late but our group were all served immediately with drinks and fantastic meals followed shortly afterwards.. great brekky as well... cant fault the Dolau and sure we will be back ... Lovely people, very friendly, excellent beer, stunning Sunday dinner, great value too.
First thing, I wish we'd known that they only take cash. After our meal I had to drive back down town to an atm which was a bit annoying. However, we all enjoyed our roast dinner and desserts, the service was good and we would definitely go again - well prepared with plenty of cash!
Excellent food freindly service in a fab environment. Cant be beaten.Service: 5/5
Always enjoy go NG here on a pool night. Great friendly people and the food provided after our pool match fantastic.
We stumbled across this pub by accident. Took a wrong turn and ended up on this road. Stopped at the Dolau Inn pub to gather our thoughts and find our bearings. I'm so glad we did . The landlord was very welcoming and helpful and we had the best home-made Chilli i've ever had. I will certainly be 'losing my way' to the Dolau Inn next time i'm in the area A proper pub! Great welcome and great food. Well recommended
