Stopped in the Premier Inn next door so it was very handy for a pint and some grub. Had the Mixed Grill twice it was that good also had "The big Dipper" burger, nice tasty burger. Also had breakfast here when stopping in the Hotel. Breakfast was superb, plenty of choice and nice Costa coffee to wash it down. Help yourself to the "Continental" and place your cooked breakfast order with the Waiter/Waitress as much as you can eat, absolutely lovely cooked breakfast and the Staff couldn't do enough for you...looking forward to my next stay there, next week.....
Ate here as part of the meal deal at the Premier Inn. Sadly no photos of dinner, too hungry, but the chicken melt was decent enough pub fayre. Remembered to photograph my breakfast though. All you can eat but unlike last night, not so hungry, but really enjoyed what I had. Staff very helpful and polite. Happy to return. Christmas? Suddenly remembered that it's not so far away. Scary.
Had a fantastic meal here. The staff were great, and didn't have to wait long for the food. My grandchildren loved their meal, and enjoyed coloring in pictures to go on the pub wall. The family meal fir £20 was good value. Would recommend this pub/restaurant. Kid-friendliness: The staff were very attentive to my grandchildren. Parking: The disability parking was next to the pub.
So our experience was awful, firstly We went in and got a drink before our meal due to being early, then we went in and waited over 1 hour for our main meal, they forgot to bring us more drinks out when we ordered also. Then we finally got our food we asked for sauce which came…… After I asked 3 times and by that time my food was cold and my partner eat his food. His food was fine but my stake I asked for medium and it was very very rare. Blood was even on my plate. Then once we eat I had to go find someone to bring our desert as it was a meal deal which again was annoying. That I had to go find them. Then we had that which was nice and I had to quickly ask for bill as it was getting late. Then my bill was wrong. And the breakfast I don’t even want to go there. Very poor and not good quality only nice thing was the egg and coffe. Will never be returning One good thing. Desert was really nice and the staff also was nice decor good and was clean.
Lovely main meal but slightly disappointed starter. It could have done with a side salad or something else other than just the goujons and dip. Temperature of the seating area also needs to be more closely monitored as it was far too hot when we arrived. Main meal was really tasty hence photo.Food: 4/5
Had a lovely meal here yesterday. I will be back again if only for the calamari starter! It was amazing! Only potential gripe was that they didn't open until 12 but the doors are open so people like me just wander in and stand around waiting to be seated. I couldn't see any signs with opening times and our visit was unplanned so hadn't checked online. No big deal though, just wandered over to the nearby shops for a while. Staff were lovely and attentive. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu has plenty of choice. Parking: Plenty of parking.
We went to this pub for breakfast on 6th April place was busy but there were no staff as we waited to be shown to our table. Waitress eventually arrived to seat us and said sit anywhere but most tables were stacked with dishes. We appreciate that if a staff member is suddenly taken ill that cant be helped. after this we were greeted by a lovely girl who had just started and looked after us but there was another staff member who had no people skills what so ever turning customers away from the door and generally very abrupt but we let this slide because being in a retail business myself i understood the pressure. we decided to give it another go today but wont be going there again. Waitress was nice enough but the orders we gave which were very basic for our children an ourselves were all wrong your ordering tick list is a fools guide to taking orders off of customers ticking what they want. Either the waitress cant read or the cook cant. it was so simple to take these orders. We simply got fed up ate what was given and left but before we left we paid and i mentioned that the food was wrong and cold to which i was answered ' you should have told us and we would have sorted it out' ?. My answer to this is why was it cold in the first place how long had it been cooked and left on the side? We had no apology and just a dazed look of yes the lights are on but guess what no ones in. Any manager worth his salt would looking at this place and booting a few people up the backside. We have been to your Beefeater in Northampton and the guy there with ponytail was great good manners all you want in a host. It makes no economic sense to have skeleton staff for a place such as this. Its shocking cold food bad staff equals no profit and closing down. Manager on this place needs taking down.
Haven't been to the Dog &Duck in about 15 years due to having a few bad meals. Went tonight 11th Feb and was so impressed. Fhuge choice of food that caters for all dietary requirements; I also felt comfortable in asking for something off piste. Service was quick but not rushed. Food was amazing, nice and hot, tasty, freshly cooked and plenty of it. Our waiter was amazing, very attentive, friendly and we gave him a thoroughly deserved large tip. All in all a really good evening and I would highly recommend going. Vegetarian options: My hubby is veggie and he found plenty of choice on the menu. Parking: Plenty of parking and disabled parking right outside the entrance. Wheelchair accessibility: Whilst no-one in our party used a wheelchair, there are two steps into the restaurant and was impressed to see that there is a lift.
Had a table booked for family whilst staying in the hotel next door. Was told we could not have a table for the 11 of us attending yet there were tables tthat could have been moved to accomodate us. 1.5 hours into the stay andone of our tables still did not have food. This table had 5 children on it. When questioned the manager was rude and avoided helping in any way and would not even stop to talk to us. 1 of the childrens desserts came out wrong 3 times. After 2 hours we were only offered 1 drink, i personally had requested a refillable drink and so never had it refilled. Staff were pleasant but manager was a complete waste of space. When finished we were faced with a bill for the childrens food despite being 1.5 hours late and with items incorrect, we asked for some sort of compensation and were faced with the rude manager and his attitude. We refused to pay the childrens meals! adult meals were already paid under a deal with the hotel and were then banned from the restaurant. Returned to our hotel and explained the situation and they refunded all of our meals. Avoid the beefeater all all costs.. Cant fault the hotel.
My OWN FAULT...... Ate here before and it.... Well wasn't great. But you know give it another go you never know. Lesson learnt!!! Staff were friendly and attentive, I can only presume its either the chefs first day or last day. Food diabolical and do you know what if it was presented with a bit of care it would show that at least they are trying, they couldnt even follow the spec to ensure the right produce was on the plate. It was the most basic meal on the menu!! All I can say is if you have an option to choose somewhere else then please do. I will treat this like Covid and will avoid it all costs.
