Very poor, would have given 0 stars if it was possible. Dill and sons were instructed via Domestic and General to repair our dishwasher. First visit in March 2022 resulted in an in proper repair which, according to their own engineer on Thursday had resulted in a ‘slow leak’ as the connection not properly closed. Engineer was very apologetic and said they would sort out the resulting damage to laminate flooring. Just had a call from a very obnoxious woman in their office saying that they ‘can’t be held responsible for a poor repair from March’ and wouldn’t be doing anything about the damage!!! Complaint now in with Domestic and General regarding their amazing U-turn and not taking ownership of their poor repair….. don’t let them in your house!!!!
Have to say I received a 1st class service from Dill & Son yesterday. Both the receptionist and repair man were very polite and friendly.
Contacted Dill & Sons Limited very helpful receptionist about my Beko Fridge Freezer and booked an appointment for one of there engineers to call to repair the appliance. I rang the company on the day of the appointment for a more accurate time l was given one in a 3 hour window the engineer was called Wayne he contacted me 15 min before he arrived and well in the time window Wayne spotted the problem pretty instantly and sorted my appliance out and it is working great.Wayne the engineer was very polite and knowledgeable and a great asset to Dill & Sons Ltd would always use them again a great Service at affordable price.
Many trips out over the past 3 years, every one due to the Smeg appliance itself and nothing to do with the engineers verified by Smeg UK. Eventually gave up with Smeg and rang Dill & Sons to get a quote for a specific new to us error code. Dill & Sons were good enough to warn me of the high price of the motor & control parts over the phone which meant I saved the cost of a callout out of warranty. Excellent.
Excellent service from the start. My tumble drier repair was covered by my D&G extended warranty. Dill & Sons were the appointed contractor. I received a polite phone call from their receptionist who was able to reschedule the original appointment to an earlier date. The engineer called on morning to advise when he would be on site. He was polite, efficient & had the repair completed within a short time.
They were appointed for a warranty repair by Smeg. Managed to arrange an appointment within 48 hours with very pleasant and helpful receptionist. Engineer arrived and was fully COVID safe. Polite and efficient. Identified the issue quickly, which was actually a supply fault not the appliance but was able to rectify immediately.
The "engineer" came to look into our broken appliance, turned it on and off at the mains and advised that the compressor was broken, that it was a common part but clearly not common enough for them to have in the van and advised that they will return to repair it early the following week as they don't work weekends. Luckily I decided to chase them up the following Tuesday, at which point they advised, rudely, that there was a blockage and that the appliance couldn't be repaired. Given that the "engineer" was in the house for no more than about three minutes I'm very intrigued to know how they arrived at the conclusion that there was a blockage and that it couldn't be fixed; I get the impression that they have a wall somewhere in the office with numerous common issues and that when they can't be bothered repairing something they just blindfold themselves and point at them, or potentially it's more of a "Wheel of Fortune" sort of arrangement. I'm always a bit wary when businesses have bad reviews and I wouldn't allow other peoples reviews to influence my opinion before I've had the opportunity to form one. That being said, I would avoid these as they're absolutely useless. Good to see that Domestic & General do their due diligence on their representatives before appointing them.
We booked a repair to our oven through Domestic and General and Dill & sons were nominated as the repair company. Having spoken to them directly we managed to get a cancellation and the engineer was prompt and very professional and polite. Many thanks to him and the office staff!!
In the Yorkshire area BEKO use Dill & Sons for repairs. My 9 month old washing machine had begun to vibrate excessively during spin cycle. Engineer came and spent a very short period where he removed the top of the machine and bounced the concrete slab a few times whilst the drum was slowly turning. He replaced the top and said he couldn't find any fault and was about to leave. I asked if he could put it on the spin cycle as this was when the fault occurs. He did this and the fault occured! At this point he said he would get a different engineer to contact me with the next 2 days. After waiting 5 days I contacted Dill & Sons to be told that the job was complete and they would not return to fix it. I suspect that they will now attempt to bill me for a call out charge. This makes me think that they could be making a tidy profit by spending a few minutes on each "job" not having to do any work except remove the 4 screws on the top of a machine, use no parts, but be in & out and collect a call out charge.
I truly believe you see a company's true colours when things go wrong. I have a Booking Number through RepairCare for today. I have waited in all day for them and its a no show. They took no responsibility at all, it was first RepairCare and then our local companies fault. He clearly put the phone down on me at one point then rang back blaming the phone system. All I would say is read all the other comments about this company going back 4 years to understand this is not just sour grapes. If I could give 0 stars I would. Just plain awful.
