I’ve been registered with this practice for years, and it’s definitely improved in the last year or so. I tend to request an appointment online, and have always been seen when I needed to, or had a phone appointment if it was suitable. Dr Baxter is such a lovely, friendly doctor who always makes me feel like he genuinely cares. The nurses are all great. I have had quite a few health issues over the years some ongoing and I always feel well taken care of here.
I don't usually leave Google reviews but have been with Didsbury medical practice for a couple of years now and I have always been incredibly impressed with their level of service. Today I put in an admin request online, which it states completely reasonably that it can take up to 3 days to respond to. They responded with the information 9 minutes later!! I'm honestly astounded. I'm lucky that I have never had to meet my GP face to face but every time I have contacted the surgery online they have been incredibly efficient and very helpful. When I have been in for routine nurse appointments the team have been absolutely lovely. They are hands down the best GP surgery I have ever had, thank you.
One of the most unhelpful surgeries I have had the misfortune to be registered with. I accept rules help the smooth running of a surgery, but on occasions there are exceptions to these. Some of the staff here are most definitely in the wrong job. They're rude and talk to you like you are dim. It's so unnecessary. This was my 3rd request for help since I registered there nearly 4 years ago, so I'm hardly a regular !!
I have been with this surgery for a very long time and I have never experienced such a lack of care, and empathy and concern from the reception team until now, and which is the time I need a little understanding and concern. I am not sure what has happened to 'people' its like they are reading from a sheet or plain and simply don't give a S..t I'm just disgusted. Not good practice and certainly not doing the A* doctors surgery any justice.
I can't thank or recommend the Doctors and all the staff associated with Didsbury Medical Practice enough. Despite the systemic pressures on all the health services and particularly the Primary Care Networks, I've always found DMP to be professional, intuitive, caring and quick to follow through. Nothing can be 100% perfect in our current health system but this is a great practice.
I have loved using this surgery, however my most recent experience has been negative. I requested some medication and was prescribed it without anyone speaking to me about my preferences. I then rang up to ask to speak to a doctor about options and he was quite rude to me wanting a different medication as I believed this one was more suited to me and my needs. I then received the prescription but have not been given enough medication to cover how long I need it. I’ve had to buy a second prescription which has cost me loads! Not impressed!
I had the best experience at the clinic! Hannah was so welcoming and knowledgable about all the treatments and products I couldn’t recommend her enough! Thank you Hannah and can’t wait to come back and see you soon !
You can't book an appointment in advance!!! You have to call on the day at 8 am sharp for a same day appointment but the lines are always engaged due to high call volumes and when you finally get through this can take up to an hour there are no slots left. Terrible service. Absolutely rinses your sick days if you're a working person.
Hate writing negative reviews but this is hands down the worst surgery I have ever experienced. Only same day appointments available. If you miss the 2 hour booking slot you’re not able to call and make an appointment . No future appointments available so make sure you book the whole day off work.. please consider reviewing this dangerous process. You risk people neglecting health warning signs due to the sheer effort it takes to speak to a medical professional.
I've recently had to change GP as I've moved away from didsbury out of their catchment area. I had an appointment booked next week for travel jabs, which i need before i go away in a month. I re registered at another practice a week ago, and didsbury medical centre did not inform me that this would, or in fact had, cancelled that appointment. I had to call up to check today, meaning I've lost about three weeks of time in which I could have booked a new appointment. Now I might not get them in time. Really disappointing service.
