First appointment: told I had adult chickenpox and sent home with nothing by a Dr. who looked about 18 yrs old: clearly just out of her time. Asked for antiviral drugs and told no!
That night chickenpox turned into an almighty nightmare.... Turns out chickenpox in adults is extremely painful. Research on Internet pointed me to needing antivirals within 24hrs. Had telephone conversation with another Dr the next day due to extreme pain and the doctor prescribed me antiviral drugs - even though they do nothing after 24 hrs. I was also prescribed codine for the pain - that did nothing. More research on the internet: I should have been prescribed a nerve painkiller like gabapentin... Just give me the prescription pad and I'll do it myself.... Less than useless.

This review was also posted on the NHS website, which they adjusted.... There was also a reply stating that I should get in touch on a supplied email. I did get in touch and never a had response. For gods sake please privatise the NHS and force this laziness out. If you fools had to work in the private sector you would understand what work is.

Fantastic service received 111 call answered immediately by good call handler who offered an appointment at Derriford Hosp out of hours clinic for 45min later, were seen on time by an excellent doctor who administered pain relief for kidney stones to relieve my husband's immediate discomfort then monitoring for an hour and release home with prescriptions once he was sure things were improving, with follow up instructions. Absolutely fantastic, reassuring service, we really felt he cared. 10/10. Could not have been better.

Excellent service. Called and got an appointment at 8pm. Hospital bed by 9pm and my appendix was out the next day.
Can't knock them.

Sunday 19th.February. My wife had a very high blood/sugar reading with other problems. Dailed 111 spoke with a lady who was very understanding. Made an appointment with Devon Doctors at Derriford Hosital. Seen on time. A good examination Put mind a ease.   Great service.

phoned 111 service waited short time quickly assessed and arranged devon doctors out of hours service to come to our home attend to elderly lady quite ill doctor arrived promptly and the whole service was excellent I cannot put into words the relief when you can access proffesional advice help when needed quickly and a bank holiday to boot big thank you to all concerned.
