Needed a prescription on Saturday. Called 111, who arranged an appointment at RD and E. Yes, I waited a while for them to get back to me, but at the hospital, I was seen within ten minutes of the appointment time. Lovely doctor checked me over and gave me the antibiotics. What more could I ask for?
Husband had temperature of 39.1c and severe diarrhoea, asked to go to Surgery at 8pm but we had no transport, told they would report this and ring back. Nothing till 0754 am and they are now closing, all our notes now gone to GP!! Yes they have my sympathy staff shortage etc etc but the whole of the NHS severely broken!!
Initially called 111 at 11am and was told a doctor would call back that day. No one called back and it left me without pain medication after kidney surgery. Absolutely dire service.
Called 111 at 7am yesterday about my 5 month old daughter, was told Devon Doctors would call me. I called 111 again at 7pm as I hadn't heard from them, promised a call back within 12 hours, it's now been nearly 26 hours since my first call to 111 and still nothing, absolutely disgusting. I have called 111 again and told to just wait to hear from them. A disgrace!
Same as Devon drs. Not fit for purpose. 10ths later needing antibiotics and no dr call back. Shameful. This is what happens when private companies try to provide healthcare. Shambles
Phoned 111 as per gp suggestion over week end. No response for 6 hours then told by a clinician if my condition had worsened to go to a and e. No response by 10.30 so went to bed. I believe there were phone calls during the night but was wakened at 4.15 am by a devon doctor outside our door who said she was concerned about the lack of response to phone calls. Examined me for about an hour and made a diagnosis connected to a heart murmer and linked valve inflammation. Impressed with the thorough care but sorry to hear about what was clearly understaffing and underfunding. This is a broken system and not in any way fit for purpose relying solely on the Hippocratic oath and working excessive hours. I remain impressed with this Polish lady who was clearly very tired but also determined to fulfil her duty. Now over to our gp but that is another story. Thank you.
My daughter called at 11am It's now 9pm and still no call back...... this is unacceptable.
Called 111 because my wife might be having a miscarriage. Was told we would be contacted by Devon Doctors within 2 hours. 5 hours later and still no call. I understand that they Are busy but come on even just a call from someone, anyone, to say, sorry, we will get to you within such and such a time. It's not hard.
I phoned to seek help for my 7 year old son, I was told that we would receive a callback within 6 hours, 9 and a half hours later we're still waiting for that callback. When I phoned the 111 service a few minutes ago they told me on the system someone had put we were a miss call at 2.38am but my husband was still awake at the time and our phone never rang! Appalling service! Begrudge giving 1 star to be able to post this review!
Fantastic service received 111 call answered immediately by good call handler who offered an appointment at Derriford Hosp out of hours clinic for 45min later, were seen on time by an excellent doctor who administered pain relief for kidney stones to relieve my husband's immediate discomfort then monitoring for an hour and release home with prescriptions once he was sure things were improving, with follow up instructions. Absolutely fantastic, reassuring service, we really felt he cared. 10/10. Could not have been better.
