I spent a good portion of my A-Level years here. Whilst I would've preferred to scribble my notes in somewhere a bit more spooky and atmospheric, Derby City Library is really quite pleasant. There's usually a computer spare, staff are helpful and it has that lovely library smell. There's a decent collection of textbooks and fiction, but if you need something special they'll order it for you from another library. It's also a great place to rent DVDs for less. My only gripe is that there's a lack of desks. It's such a nice and quiet place to work. A few more chairs and tables would be lovely.
The Library is situated in the same building as the Museum and Art Gallery. Suitable for all your educational, academic, and leisure needs. Computers are also available for the public to access the internet. There is a photocopier on site.
The 2 young deck staff are rather rude the girl one muttered something about a member of public as she walked to deck to check in for pc the girl helping me had the expressionI don't want to help you or be here. The liabiry is fantastic other then that
Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff, and a great selection of books! Can't wait to get into the audio collection.
Really peaceful place to work and get your work done. Super friendly staff and a very warm environment. X
