Story

Welcome to Dee Light Bakery, an interactive cafe and bakery on Ritherdon Road, Balham in London UK.

We bake bread and gluten-free produce, cakes and pastries on site every day and teach classes in cake decorating and baking for all ages and abilities.

Our celebration cakes are designed and made for all occasions including Birthdays, Anniversaries, Bar mitzvah's, Christenings, Valentines, Mothers day, Easter, Christmas - the list is endless.

We are a child-friendly cafe with a buggy park and kids play area and we also supply high quality wholesale bakery products for other businesses.

Open seven days a week, we serve delicious freshly ground coffee and fresh produce from our on site bakery. Pick up a loaf or a take away coffee, watch our bakers at work in our open plan cafe, or book one of our classes and have a go yourself!

Decided to go for an impromptu lunch in the area and stumbled upon this place - it’s amazing! Everything we had, from the quiche, sandwich, and all the way to dessert lamingtons are a must have was exceptional. They also have the cutest and friendliest Labrador that welcomes you when you arrive. Will definitely be back!Food: 5/5

Thought I'd give this place a try since it's local to me. Pastries look great but unfortunately cappuccino was cold and tasteless. Also there is a dog inside which is great, but not so great when dog wanders around the kitchen..... Cold day and the door ajar, not great for people wanting to sit in a comfortable place inside. Service is good, but don't see myself coming back. ;

So lucky to have this local bakery. We are there almost every morning getting fresh from the oven pastries & lunchtime baguettes. Great variety of brunch options for those who are sick of avocado on sourdough! Always nice to come in, get a proper hello & a smile.Food: 5/5

Dee made an excellent guten free gf and dairy free df lemon cake with a wonderful df buttercream.  It was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by all and no-one could tell it was gf and df.  Decorations were really good too.  Well done, would happily come back!  Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free gf and dairy free df birthday cake.

Hands down my favourite bakery in Tooting /Balham! The food is absolutely divine and the prices are great too! Every morning there’s a fabulous selection and new goodies coming in all the time. I’ve been here before and after being diagnosed with coeliac disease and so can safely say that both the “normal” food and gluten free food are 10/10. Love it !! Fantastic cafe with an amazing selection. Highly recommend the chocolate almond croissant, the cinnamon swirl and the mighty cheesy swirl with Vegemite  Really friendly service and great coffee too. Our favourite spot post-parkrun  Dietary restrictions: Clearly labelled and separated gluten free and vegan options.

Lovely little place! They bake everything "on view" so you can actually see the backrooms which is lovely. The staff is friendly and makes sure they get your order right. A fresh croissant made my morning much better. And delicious coffee. I could see that dogs on a leash are welcome and even get a little treat from the owner  When you finish your morning coffee you can get a nice fresh cake or bread or even a baguette to take home. I'm really pleased I came here today and I will be coming much more often. P.s. cause it's very important to me. The counters and displays were nice and clean!
