Lovely little local cafe. There is a wide selection of baked goods, fresh sourdough and croissants. We sat and had breakfast which was delicious, sweet potato rosti and eggs paxos. The inside space is very warm and inviting with nice decor. Finally the service is excellent professional and quick. Definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
Cutest little coffee shop and bakery! The baked goods looked insane, see pics. We just got coffee but they gave us a free load of sourdough. Staff super friendly and great coffee. Would recommend.Food: 5/5
We're not happy to be writing this review; unfortunately, we've had a bad experience and feel that the response to a serious health and safety breach fell very below basic professional standards. We were also then billed for the wrong customer's food. We went to the Toast Rack on Sunday 1 September 2024. We ordered one latte, one cappucino and two English breakfasts. We discovered a large ceramic chip inside the cappucino that we ordered, originating from the cup itself which was broken. The chip was large enough to present a serious choking hazard, and easily could have been swallowed. They then offered a fresh cup to compensate, which we didn't consume as we felt concerned after discovering the first one. While issues are unavoidable in any restaurant, what made things worse was that the manager was 1 'too busy' to come and give a formal apology or offer to report the incident. 2 The waiting staff then quickly hoovered up the cup and we ended up having to request it back to take our own record, the staff losing the chip in the process. The restaurant did offer to email us a record of the incident, and we'll update the review to say when we've received it. To add insult to injury, 3 we were billed for the wrong customer's food under invoice number 47023, which we only discovered when getting home. This leaves us without any formal receipt of what we paid for in this case. We weren't expecting compensation for what we found; instead, simply a professional response to a health and safety incident, and confidence that this would be dealt with properly. We didn't receive that. We're not sure if this is something we should report to the FSA as this is something that could have killed a customer under the wrong circumstances. For now, I am leaving this review and hope that the restaurant can act on it in a way it should have done in the first place.
Food is good but not standing out, we had Turkish egg, egg Benedict and waffles all were good. Their coffee is good but again not standing out. We bought sourdough to take with us home and it was fine. Staff were super nice and the outside setting area is lovely. Nice to have a lovely local place.Food: 4/5
Tucked away in an unassuming location this eatery was a little gem. We came across it by chance and it was a really good spot! The inside reminded us of an old school american dinner with the booths at the back and a nice coffee shop, sellling upmarket produce such as fruit, cheese, baked goods at the front as you enter. The food was very nice and there are some combinations of flavours in the breakfast menu i haven't seen before and they really work! Definitely worth a try and i would recommend for sure! The food & especially the coffee was outstanding! The icing on the cake was the service - the young man who served us was so pleasant & welcoming; made the whole experience that much better!Food: 5/5
I'm sorry to be writing this review as I was really excited about this place and the menu. However on the 21/03/24 me and my partner came for a quick sandwich - and I was left feeling angry and frustrated. Firstly, we were left waiting for around 25 mins for a simple sandwich to go, there were not many other customers, and to top it off, when I finally got my sandwich, it was missing half of the ingredients. It was meant to be tuna, cheese, capers and onions - but it had no capers nor onions see picture. I paid £9 for tuna sandwich I could have made at home for £1... And my partner's kimchi beef sandwich was a disappointment to say the least.
I paid 10-12£ for burnt toast, the burnt taste overcame everything they should be cooked at lower temperatures for longer and when I told the manager he didn't even care. But you can try coffee I’d liked latte.Food: 1/5
Food was incredible and arrived quickly - reasonably priced Food: 5/5
Ordering a black coffee ends up with what looks like brown dirty hot water and taste like nothing. Then asking the barrista if it could be replaced with a similar coffee, but less water was as if I had asked him to give me his life. I was made to feel like I was committing a cardinal sin. How dare I! First and last time I buy a coffee from this place.
