I purchased some Adkins products yesterday from my local market. The bread rolls I bought were perfect, however I also bought some confectionery that wasn't as nice. The large egg custard was extremely stiff and tasteless and inedible and had to be disposed of. The Eccles cakes were stale and also had to be put in the bin. I would have given you a 5 star rating solely for the bread rolls but the confectionery let you down big style.
14 years of being a loyal customer and spending over £2500 aweek never again. I sold my shop and decided to open a new one down the road trading under the same ltd company so apparently have to open a brand new account not just change the address and the fact my driving licence was out of date, I was shocked at the response from the rep that has looked after us for 14 years . I wouldn't normally leave reviews but feel she was out of order and rude towards me but I'm happy now as found a new friendly bakery that actually use fresh ingredients so it pays to shop around how ever the girls in the office are excellent and very helpful
Had the "4 Brown York Baps" and had severe brain fog afterwards, then read the ingredients list and saw a ton of e-numbers. If people realised how much junk goes into some these products they would hopefully stop buying them.
Bought some items from skirlington market on Sunday the chocolate caramel flapjack was to die for steak pie was also very good and the price was great .good job I don't live local or I would pile the pounds on
Very average tasting goods cheap and tastes it
Remember getting hot cross buns from Adkins for William Bancrofts on Roden Street before they closed in the 90s. A hot cross bun for every employee at Easter, irrespective of role within the company. The buns were always outstanding, fresh, tasty and enjoyed by every one. Freshly delivered with a smile. Glad they are still in business and doing well. Long may they continue.
The fare, that this company produce is second to none.,. from cobs to cornflake tart, it's exceptional, but above all else the price is well within everyones budget....10/10 from me
I had this bakery's food in qmc hospital !!! In the kids ward !!! As a breast feeding mother. No one should eat this stuff it's not food. I took one bit and spat it out from 3 different things from this bakery before just requesting not to have puddings, bread ect just additives and e numbers. I have never come across "food" like this I'm sure it's illegal to call this food or if it's not it should be. I'm sorry to write such a bad review but stop please for the health of the people eating this food stop making it
The working hours are from 9to2 but the receptionist lady who is unprofessional keeps telling us we have to come before nine o'clock which she is doing to make her job easy we have been ordering over two years as never had a problem but the receptionist making a issue about when we have to collect the product that I pay for.
This Nottingham family Bakery deserves alot of credit for standing the test of time and weathering the difficult trading conditions over the years for the bakery industry many well known inc Browns, Turners, Dawsons, flewitts the original Pork farms and many others have fallen Adkins Still producing quality bread and cakes at a good price. I used to live on Stonebridge road near to their old premises and many times, especially on late friday nights, seen the bakers chasing the drunks nicking cobs that were outside cooling down lol I had a brief spell here back in 1985 on work experience before I left school and an experience it was!!! Lots of characters and think the owner back then was mick? Top bloke although it did not take much for him to lose his rag!! proper old school gaffer. Hope they continue to do well.............
