I went from paying roughly 100 to 133 with no notice. They have increased the price due to inflation up to 33%. So ridiculous and terrible approach to customer service. I cancelled straight away and requested all monies back as you have a legal right. I hope they are ashamed for the pressure they are pushing to the people. At that price there are much better gyms around the area. I hope better management comes in to take this gym and make it good again. RESPONSE TO NEW REPLY: You push the pressure down to customers? 33% increase within a month.... that is not trying enough. I could have understand keeping up with inflation but 33% is a joke and unacceptable. We cancelled both memberships we had in the house hold. We will find another gym that is more suitable financially and still be a "leading leisure brand offering members a chance to live a better life with focus on physical and mental wellbeing". Thanks for your reply regardless.
This place was only good for showing me how lucky we are to be a member of the Cambridge branch. No spa retreat, small pool, dark, not a nice atmosphere at all, quite depressing in all honesty. Only good thing about it is the soft play area which is quite a lot bigger than some other branches and is separated from the cafe area so the noise is somewhat contained. But then again no children's pool or splash area like we have in Cambridge. Another place I won't ever return to.
Bit disappointed to be fair, my wife and I have been full paying members for a couple of years and to be fair haven’t been there for months. Their customer service didn’t used to be the best in as much as not answering phone calls etc and after a fair few months I went back and nothing has changed. I’ve rang twice in a week neither time was my call answered by reception, this is pretty standard. When I arrive there is two receptionists neither massively busy, a lady there complaining of the facilities and wanting to freeze her membership. After the woman was served I was completely ignored by the receptionist who just went over to to the computer other customers walked past me and I had to announce my presence so I was seen. I said I’d been ringing but there was no apology as to why the call wasn’t answered. The club whilst I’m sure will be nice when finished is a bit of a mess to be honest and to charge members full price with reduced facilities is a bare faced cheek, David Lloyd make enough profits to reduce their prices to look after their members. I went to a booked badminton court which I had to set up myself with a tatty net in a gloomy building. My wife then took me to the make shift gym which was dusty and smelt looked like a warehouse, so poor David Lloyd Enfield. I think I’m going to take my £250 a month elsewhere. Would not recommend to join in its current state very poor
The most stressful time trying to cancel the membership and still ongoing. Please understand once you've signed up and if become unhappy with the facilities, it's not easy to get anyone to call back or address your situation. Tread very carefully before signing up. I wish had read many of the similar reviews.
My son really enjoys DL kids club, especially if Jodie is there, as she always make sure the kids do sporty activities and have the most fun. Jodie is also very good at talking to the kids and cares about their emotions too. My son always asks if Jodie will be at the class and is already asking to do his Birthday there with her as the host. We love her! :
I ve been a member of DL Enfield since early summer. I took a membership with my daughter to spend quality time together. As a platinum member I receive a guest pass a month. I thought it would be great to bring my son to swim with us every month. However I could not use my pass throughout summer as the club was closed for non members. My passes therefore expired. I would understand if the club would not allow paying non members to come during busy time but not allowing me to use a guest pass given by the club is not right as I took the membership on promise that I could bring one guest a month. The outdoor pool was also closed for children for many days during early summer period which I find very disappointing since my daughter is a full member of the club. I was told by a manager that this is due to shortage of staff but I am aware from other members that it's been like that for years now. I find the reception staff not very polite especially if you raise any concers/complaints. The classes are often booked out particularly tennis beginners as there is only one session a week.
I can't recommend this club enough. If you're looking for a place to workout ,socialise and feel at home, this is definitely the spot for you!excellent facilities! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm welcome from the staff, who are always on hand to help out! a big shoutout to the two amazing managers,Kudret and Lyndon! I can't speak highly enough of them! These guys are the best - they're so friendly, approachable,professional and always willing to help out. Overall, I'm so grateful for everyone at this club - from the amazing managers/staffs to the friendly and hardworking cleaners. It's a fantastic community of people who are dedicated to making this club a welcoming and enjoyable place to be.
I have only been here a few times but everytime I have the manager Vinny has been nothing but welcoming, kind, and professional. Much more then any other David Lloyds I have been to. Truly a gentleman and sets a high standard for me going forward. Thank you Vinny, I look forward to seeing you again
A warning to those considering joining DL Enfield: PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE! I have to admit, I've never been quite so disappointed by the level of service at any gym/club in the past. Time and time again we've had last minute cancellations to our PT sessions and gym classes; the front desk staff are abrasive and ill-mannered; and it's nearly impossible to speak to anyone other than an automated voice or "chatroom app". Quite frankly, the club is an absolute shambles. I do hope someone from the club reads this, as it would be lovely to be contacted by them at some point. I fear, however, it will be easier to get blood from a stone. All the best, and remember my new slogan: it's best to avoid David Lloyd.
Don't be fooled by the sales pitch! Once you sign up the customer service ends. They keep signing up members but keeping the same amount of staff and number of classes. The restaurant closes for hours because the chef goes on break. Get a second chef! You are charging enough! They keep shutting the pool because the lifeguard keeps going off sick. Get a second lifeguard. You are charging enough! People keep jumping the barriers and coming in making the club dangerous and leading to thefts. Get a security guard. You are charging enough! You can't get on classes because they are overbooked! Put on more classes and pay more instructors. You are charging us enough! The only thing you can do is use a gym or blaze. If that is all you want it for there are better gyms you can go to. Not to mention that the women's toilets flood on a regular basis so all women in the club have to use one disabled toilet. HEAD OFFICE put more staff investment into the Enfield club because it is falling apart!
