Avon Dam is a place to go. Lovely landscapes 360 all around You. Even though I am a nature's creation lover this human build piece blends in perfectly into a Dartmoor's landscape. In addition to that there is nice walk from car park and You even don't need a hiking shoes. Footpath is wide and good quality no matter You wanna walk, jog or cycle. And all hills around the Avon Dam is full of beautiful baby lambs and their moms. Really good place to visit and we probably will come back!

Went wild camping in early spring, it was cold wet and very much a case of trekking through swamp land. It absolutely beautiful down there though. Be aware this place will kick your ass if you don't give it the respect it deserves and prepare properly. It's not a jaunt in a large local park. It's rough terrain unpredictable weather and couldn't care less about your safety. However if you prepare right do your research and get the right equipment you are in for a treat if you enjoy the outdoors. Oh and go for the best lightweight gear you can buy, and a really good sleeping bag. It can get really cold at night and conditions can turn in minutes. Loved every minute of it

Simply an amazing place. If you like the outdoors and not visited before then make sure you do. From wide open wilderness, amazing views from atop of Tors, to beautiful rivers and tucked away falls. Wonderful!

Love it brings back good childhood memories. Now getting to re-live these memories with my own children. Good areas for picnics and paddling feet. Can be just a short walk or a really long walk and end up on the Moors for the more ventures.

Beautiful, rugged. Check the weather and be prepared for changeable weather! So gorgeous! From rugged, bleak tors, to mossy ancient woodlands. Dartmoor is beautiful.
