Spacious recreation park on the Ogwell Road from Newton Abbot, it has limited car parking so aim to get there early on busier weekends. There is a small kiosk serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice-cream etc... And public toilets are located in the same building. There are two caged tennis courts and a basketball court, all free to use. Huge grass area for walking dogs, picnics and walking... There is a kids play park near the entrance which is well maintained, with zip line, climbing frame, swings and a toddlers area. You can walk upstream along the river Lemon or walk into the Bradley Estate.
Nice place for a walk, lots of friendly dog walkers. Wear your wellies in the autumn and winter months though. Beautiful paddling area of the stream and space for children to play. Easy parking, but limited.
If you are a dog lover and walker this is the place to go in newton Abbott. Excellent community of other dog walkers, not people who are super reactive and then try to say it's their dogs who are. Luna my black lab has made loads of friends here and loves running round with all the others
My favourite Newton Abbot Park. Good for dogs who love woods and paddling in the shallow River Lemon which runs through it.
This is by far the best place to park and walk your pet or a stroll through the woods. The car park is not very big so sometimes we park in a nearby street up the hill and walk down to the park.
Great open public space, very popular with dog walkers. Recently opened cafe, very good too! Toilets available but for a charge - currently 30p. Good play areas - separate one for toddlers, zip wire, bigger swings and willow tunnel in the larger area. Picnic benches and seating dotted around the park.
We are so lucky to have this park on our doorstep. First park features multiple football fields, children's play park, tennis courts and public toilets. Mediocre amount of parking is an issue, but then again, it's 5 minutes walk from centre if town where there is plenty of parking. Once you leave the first field, you have multiple pathways around the woods to walk your dog, enjoy nature or just escape the real word. Beautiful, well kept and a fair bit of history surrounds this place
Nice park toilets are available even though we have to pay for them also vehicles can park for 3hrs free which is great children's play park also available
Excellent place for a dog walk or an adventure with the kids. Woods and water. Fabulous
There is much to like about our local park. It has had a makeover in the last 12 months and looks a lot better for it. There is plenty of space for everyone. There are free tennis courts, and they're new. The park leads to Bakers Woods, which is another haven for dog walkers, strollers or joggers
